Strange thing was, I was walking home, and didn't feel anything.....yet I see windows and chimneys shaking. It was a weird experience, as I slept through the one we had last year.

Actually I don't think we hit the ceiling, I think we hit bottom and are dragging tail.

The 1989 quake was the real deal!

BREAKING NEWS: President Obama has just confirmed that the DC earthquake occurred on a rare and obscure fault-line, apparently known as "Bush's Fault". Obama also announced that the Secret Service and Maxine Waters continue an investigation of the quake's suspicious ties to the Tea Party. The USGS however have proven that it was caused by the founding fathers rolling over in their graves. Residents of D.C.: don't be alarmed with the Earthquakes. That is just the Country shifting to the RIGHT!

*Scratches head* except for the fact that the founding fathers could fit either as left or moderate? Not sure where you're going with that one Pajammy.

I honestly can't think of a single founding father who would have aligned with the tea party. The more renowned ones were known as being highly anti-clerical and being quite socially liberal. Jefferson would have agreed with you on the idea of small government, but would have rejected the tea party given its Christian tendencies and would have steer cleared of the anti-gay movement (given its inherent value for big government.) Not to mention Jefferson was more of a realist than an idealist given his method of acquiring the Louisiana territory.
