You are correct, 2 planes hit the World Trade Center, a third hit the Pentagon and the forth plane (United Flight 93) spun in and crashed into the ground in Shanksville, Pennsylvania after the passengers tried to retake the airplane. (They found out what had happened to the first 3 planes via Satphones, and were not going down without a fight.) Who knows how many lives they saved on the ground by giving theirs fighting back, is anybody's guess.
