...Dial-up still exists? My god, not to sound like some sheltered [m'kay] in a suburb, but I thought they got rid of that [poo] ages ago. You can get internet almost all over the entire world, so why is dial up still HERE?

Ill tell you, normally anywhere in EUROPE you can get a decent internet conection.
Not necesarily Viber but still speeds of 3-6MB/s are easy to get.

The problem is Spain has many...mountains hills and such, i live outside the city, and we have no telephone cable.
So i have to use a mobile phone conection that has a limit of 5GB's
Now altough my download speed within these 5GB's is around 200KB/s it's the same sistem as dial up, so my PING is extremely high...
And after reaching the limit my speed goes to 15,2KB/s so let's say i don't really like my current internet, but besides satalite there is no way to get any...

Man, that [m'kay] blows. I remember being on pretty much the worst connection in the world; I was having a really, really good day when I got over 20 kbps, and it was usually around 6-7. But it was free, so we didn't upgrade until around 2005.


Three days to download a 350 megabyte file? Hellz yeah.

I just found out I have a 200gb cap on my internet plan... I used to download that in a week... like these skanks aren't making enough already
Speed, however, has never been an issue. I get 5 down minimum

I used to download everything downloadable; games, software, music, video, certainly dl my share of pr0n as well, mt, (but anyone who says they haven't is a liar or too young.)
I started this around the time Napster showed up (and edonkey). All the communications facilities sucked near my house because it was next to salt water. My good days I would connect at 33.6 through mindspring. I was in the process of getting divorced and didn't mind locking the study with the computer online all day (tying up the phone line).
A major factor in selling that house and moving 2 towns over was that they had cable modem access and i was still a year away at least.
