Yeah, but it's not that different here. Livestock are slaughtered all the time in awful conditions all over America. We shoot down wolves that are also just as endangered as some sharks. And sharks are hunted because of a treasured culture in Japan and parts of Aisa. Where does it say that we can tell people, or entire nations when they can or can not cease their own culture that have been around for ages?
However, I do agree that the widespread practice of shark finning is increasing, but the only change I think should occur is that shark finners must haul the entire shark corpse back to port, not just the fins, which means the supply goes down. Yes, it is true that shark fins are very cheap, but if the supply goes down, then the price should rise.
