The bible states a knowledge of right and wrong as well as knowing we are naked, something animals don't have. Please wulf answef this since i know what you are going to answer and i already have a response ready.

Ugh. Do I have to answer? I keep hoping this topic will die and keep being disappointed. And honestly? I don't trust you to hold a proper debate. *sighs*

You know what I'm going to say? That's quite something, the force is strong with this guy. I'd be quite entertained if you knew exactly what my thoughts are on this matter.
You ready for this? It's a big one. One for the ages, to be written in the Elder Scrolls.

I don't know. Yep, that's right. I don't have an answer for this. I can't explain why humans of old felt they were "naked". I know why it's "wrong" today, we're used to it. It's passed on from Parent to child that it's wrong to be without clothes. If you go to primitive tribes in Africa, there are people completly naked or only partially clothed and they don't care or find anything wrong with it. The feeling of "it's wrong to be naked" is taught, not an instinct. I am very opinionated about my views on human rights. So allow me to take a slight detour to help bring about my final thought.

Take a look at this ad.

What do we see here? It's a man and a woman. She has on a thong and a bikini, he only has on shorts. His chest is uncovered, which is fine in our society. It's just fine to gawk at the male body. But it's not legally(in most placed) or socially acceptable for a woman to be without a top. I'm not even going to go into genitals, I'll focus on one half of the body for now.

Why is it fine for a man to be without a top but it's not okay for women? I don't know exactly how it started, but if I had my way, it would be equal. I don't even care which way it goes, either a man should have to wear a top (it would make that one Twilight guy forced to wear a shirt) or okay for women to be topless. In some places it's legal for women to be topless, like here in my city. However I can name all the topless women walking around the town with both of my hands cut off. None, it's legal, but socially unacceptable. Now, like I said, I know why it's like this today. What I don't know is why it ever started.

I'm not going to dispute the bible's depiction at all. Fine, let's say Adam and Eve ate apples from the forbidden tree(pomegranates actually, few people actually know it's not apples but really pomegranates. It's easy to spell and say Apple, so they went with that. Actually if my memory serves me, pomegranates grow on bushes, not trees. So it would be the forbidden bush(sounds like a bad porn movie). Fun fact, the word/fruit pomegranate is where we get the word grenade. The first grenades were full of shrapnel that reassembled the pomegranate seeds, and the size of the grenade was similar to an average pomegranate as well. Pomegranate, Granate, Granade, Grenade. I digress). Let's say that's true, what was never explained to me, and still hasn't been, is why? Why is it wrong to be without clothes? It seems more a curse to me, thanks to the devil. If so, we should cast away those thoughts.

I look at this very literally. We are flesh and blood, to me there's little difference between my finger and my prick. Fun fact, you can prick your finger but not finger your prick (joke property of George Carlin, may he rest in peace). Which reminds me of a slightly similar topic. "Bad" language. Words are sounds emitted when air passes through our vocal chords. To me, there's not much difference between the words, it's all just sound waves. At least, not much difference on their own. Words can hurt, so if used in a sentence that's different. So I think it should be fine for a man to scream [m'kay] when he drops the sledgehammer on his foot. Whom is he attacking or hurting? The hammer? Well I got news for you, the hammer doesn't care for much. The hammer doesn't care for much of anything at all, other than Hammer Time. It's like Happy Hour for hammers. I digress.

Words are words. Body parts are body parts. These are my thoughts.

P.S. Sorry for any spelling/grammatical errors. I haven't slept in quite awhile, and I have a flu. I used to spell check, but then I took an arrow in the knee.

@Wulf

That's one nice post, and i'm not going to debate it, it has been such a long time now, but i do have another question:
Unlike humans, do the animals have a concience? do they know what's right or wrong?

I know that we will not agree on this but the Bible IS 100% correct, and no im not talking about this "lost book" that someone wrote purely to make the bible seem bad.

Please explain in more detail. Making a claim without a viable argument and/or proof does not make your statement correct (let alone the Bible).

Cheers

Quan, I respect you, and consider you a friend, but I must politely disagree. If you have the time, refer to this link http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/proph/long.html. I personally have no particular religion, but I believe in the teachings of those like Christ and Buddha. No, I absolutely do NOT believe the Bible is infallible. Many parts of it are outdated, and it was authored by humans--not God. If one says the Bible is true, then one cannot deny the truth in the Quran, the Torah, etc, as well. Several things the Bible says happened, to me, seem ridiculous. I will not go into them now, as I will likely cause a tirade from mrjamwin/others.

@Minas_Thirith, I consider you a friend, but I must respond in disagreement. You (and several others) state that the Big Bang could not have happened because there was nothing to cause it. However, if God created the Universe, what created God? You see, it is an extremely hard question to answer.

Also, concerning evolution, amongst most scientists, the fact of evolution is not even debated anymore. Most scientists accept it as truth and now the debate concerns the intricacies of how everything happens/works. Evolution has allowed us to discover how bacteria infect our cells, and how to cure such bacteria. I encourage all of you (and I will too) to do some research about evolution and the details surrounding it. I am not saying evolution is the truth; I am saying that it is part of the truth.

Here, sir, you make the mistake of many. You say that Earth "just happened" to be at its right orbit/everything else. But you do not undertsand, and this is hard to explain over the internet, that if the conditions had NOT been right, we wouldn't be here debating it-- something else might. You say the conditions are perfect for human life, and that the Big Bang couldn't have done this. But I refuse to believe we were some sort of "intended outcome." If you gather my meaning, I am saying that if the conditions were DIFFERENT (not at the current levels) different species would have developed. Humans wouldn't exist as such, for example, if an event had occurred sometime in Earth's 5 billion year history that caused lava and ash to encase the planet, life would probably have taken longer to develop, or species more resistant to heat and little vegetation would have developed. That, my friend, is the beauty of evolution. Things adapt to their current situation, and the evolutionary process is never-ending.

Who says if I believe the Bible then I must believe those books. and though the Bible was written by men it was God who showed them what to write.
