er? They had good and bad ideas just like the rest of us. If you're not moving forward you're moving backwards. I think statistics can quite clearly point to the fact that secular nations tend to do better in nearly all regards, especially in education.
I think some of you have all bought into this war on Christianity, but I'll let you in on a secret from deep within the enemy camp. There's no war. In fact most of the high profile atheists support A. Jesus B. Christmas. In fact, those are pretty much the only bright spots in Christianity for us anti-theists. While many of us do support eradicating religion from true government activities the removal of religion from the public is not one of our goals. It is in fact ok for a child to pray in school. The teachers however can not mandate a prayer, unsure if they can lead one. Probably not given that they're government officials in a governmental position of power. I think that the focus on nativity scene removals and such is just a microscope effect. The actual problem is the feeling of privilege. Whether it's an atheist who feels he/she is privileged to not see that or for Christians to feel the privilege that they are the dominant religion and therefore should be all powerful as a group or whatever the ultra conservatives wank off to.
And to whoever posted about Sharia law...yes, religious law is EXACTLY what we're fighting. We don't want stone age beliefs in a modern society. To embrace Sharia would be a huge step backwards. I live about ten minutes away from Dearborn (the largest Muslim community in the US" and I haven't seen any signs of this Sharia law aside from a very small minority. Which isn't to say they aren't conservative, they're very conservative but they also realize what our country has to offer them and they're just as American as you and I.
