Thank you Yanoda, Crater and others for a fun conversation. Now that we've reached 50 I'll end my posts by saying that I believe in the Big Bang theory and nearly all of its supporting science. I believe the scientific method is the best way for humans to explore and understand our universe. I am not a creationist nor particularly religious. I am no atheist and I'm not agnostic. I just don't know. So to fill that void of understanding I use intuition and faith. I don't know what a soul is but I know I have one. I believe thought transcends our understanding of our physical universe and is more than complex neural pathways and firing synapse. My own EXPERIENCE leads me to these beliefs. They guide me to a theory that includes a Will or Force of some kind. I don't understand it's purpose nor do I expect I could.

A couple of phrases from Douglas Adams' "The Resaurant at the End of the Universe" come to mind.

The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

"How can I tell," said the man, "that the past isn't a fiction designed to account for the discrepancy between my immediate physical sensations and my state of mind?"

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

The Total Perspective Vortex derives its picture of the whole Universe on the principle of extrapolated er analyses.
To explain — since every piece of er in the Universe is in some way affected by every other piece of er in the Universe, it is in theory possible to extrapolate the whole of creation — every sun, every planet, their orbits, their composition and their economic and social history from, say, one small piece of fairy cake.
The man who invented the Total Perspective Vortex did so basically in order to annoy his wife.
Trin Tragula — for that was his name — was a dreamer, a thinker, a speculative philosopher or, as his wife would have it, an idiot.
And she would nag him incessantly about the utterly inordinate amount of time he spent staring out into space, or mulling over the mechanics of safety pins, or doing spectrographic analyses of pieces of fairy cake.
"Have some sense of proportion!" she would say, sometimes as often as thirty-eight times in a single day.
And so he built the Total Perspective Vortex — just to show her.
And into one end he plugged the whole of reality as extrapolated from a piece of fairy cake, and into the other end he plugged his wife: so that when he turned it on she saw in one instant the whole infinity of creation and herself in relation to it.
To Trin Tragula's horror, the shock completely annihilated her brain; but to his satisfaction he realized that he had proved conclusively that if life is going to exist in a Universe of this size, then the one thing it cannot afford to have is a sense of proportion.

Yes, the conversations were amusing and I appreciate having those who participated on the last 5 pages. For a moment, I thought I had to argue/discuss with myself to the last pages.

I have a feeling you're just saying that to appease me, maybe I am just making a baseless assumption. I cannot prove it (provide evidence) so I have nothing to argue about.

How about we persist with the discussion in a few days? Wouldn't that be jolly?

True that Dread. In my own arguement, I still don't think yan's idea opinion is true, but I guess your entitled to it. Still, the site you used, yan wasn't very good. I don't have much time, but the sites called ancient.eu.

I am being absolutely truthful. I thought you had me when you wrote:

I didn't write that... were you trying to claim I said something which in fact I didn't or did you make a mistake? Hint: check page 48 again

What do you mean by 'idea opinion'? You mean this site? http://www.ancient.eu.com/article/225/
Why wasn't the site good? I understand if you mean that it can have similarities to wikipedia, but I also provided other links. They all said the same thing (even concerning the Tablet translations).
