I myself have seen the video, and I reacted to it like any normal person would when I first saw it. Of course, I changed my profile picture on FaceBook to that of a Stop Kony picture. Now, reading current things about Kony 2012 that have surfaced, I have since taken it down and removed my affiliation with the cause for multiple reasons. The company sponsoring this movement itself is VERY flimsy and mysterious, Invisible Children, apparently only put 30% of it's earnings last year into 'Direct Funding' for causes. Direct Funding as in giving it to the government, which many see a problem in. The Uganda government has been accused of raping, killing, and just other violent acts repeatdly, and there is even a picture with the founders of Invisible Children posing with the Military holding weapons. This is where alot of people find fault, they are just trying to use violence to end this. Yes, many children have been killed, but Kony actually might already be dead. He many have been dead for a couple of years now, actually. The LRA (group Kony Started) has actually moved out of Uganda, and many people believe promoting the cause in Uganda might lead to more violence in Uganda, just as they were able to sit back and be relived.

That is just my opinon, as my earlier opinon was swayed greatly by this post. http://pomee.tumblr.com/post/1889960176 ... -than-good

Africa is broken, period. Sending U.S troops won't fix the problem, only the people who make up the various nations of Africa can truly provided the lasting solutions to the problems that exist within their respective countries. Why should Joseph Kony be of world interest when he is of very little interest in the nations where his forces reside? It's an election year people, Jason Russell and Invisible Children Inc. created the perfect storm; they made a video that appeals to peoples' emotions and launched the campaign during an election year when public interest topics receive the greatest media coverage. I have yet to find an explanation as to why Invisible Children Inc. would do something like this that wasn't part of some conspiracy theorist's babble but have narrowed it down to either monetary gain on IC's part or access to resources in Africa by IC or the U.S. via AFRICOM.

All in all the last thing the U.S. should be concerned about is some old man kidnapping kids in Africa. Our plate is pretty full, perhaps we should finish off what we got before asking for seconds.

Second, it won't be the Invisible Childrens campaign that takes him down. It will probably be the American government that eventually steps in and makes the arrest. (Or just puts a bullet in his head, like they do to most dictators) Donating to Invisible Childrens would be pretty much useless, since there are many other things you could be spending your money on. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see a dictator rise, but I don't think there's anything we can do about it.

Over 70% of Americans don't think we should be going into Iran, but do we have any say over it? No, the government has all the power.

Now I, am a teen, but I saw the vid a while ago. Kony needs to be MADE FAMOUS!!! And we as a CLAN, no matter AGE, can do SOMETHING to help. A lot of ppl are commenting on vids on Youtube saying nothing but "KONY 2012". Ppl are going "Who is Kony?" We could go to clan sites and saying Kony or something. I mean, ya pick up what I put down guys? :gunsmilie:

I've researched this a lot more. The whole Kony thing is war propaganda. Obama wants to bring the military into Africa just like Iraq. In the Kony video they actually said Kony is as bad as Hitler and Saddam Hussein. Many Ugandans have come forward and said that Kony hasn't even been seen in 5 years. The Obama Administration is one of the main funders of Invisible Children. We should NOT make Kony famous, instead we should stop talking about him altogether. Unless you want to have another 10 year war in Africa.

What do you think we can do for the 30000 children that don't know anything other than how to shoot a gun? And if it turns out that Kony actually is real and we kill him, what will stop another dictator from rising? The problems in Africa are a lot bigger than just one guy.

You should research things before you just jump on the bandwagon and start supporting things. Most people just started it because it seemed like the trendy thing to do. It only lasted for a week before the trend faded.
