Server Switching Bug

Postby Hobo » Sun Apr 01, 2012 4:47 am

For some reason, I'm having issues going into a server after exiting another. I can join one the first time I join a server, but if I leave to go to a different server, my screen goes black. If I ctrl-esc after it goes black, and open the SWBF tab afterwards, it will be stuck at the loading screen on the last dot. Any ideas? I already tried a disk check. I also use Steam to open SWBF.

I've had something similar happen to me. After one map, the game would go to next map and freeze on the last dot going into the map. I found out it was my anti-virus. If you task manager, you will see that your CPU is at 100%. I switched to another malware and it went away. You might have a different issue, but try that.

Hmm I'm not sure its my anti virus,(AVG) because every time I open star wars it asks my permission to allow SWBF Internet connection. Also, what do you mean by switching to a different malware?

I know that if I joined through xfire on a pass-worded server I could not join a different server even if the next one was not password protected. I realize you are using Steam, but maybe they were similar. The only thing I could do was to stop the program and start back up again.

I can't remember the name of the free ware malware..I want to say Avast. I think a new update messed with game..or CPU. I changed to a different free malware (Immunet), it's supposed to be a cloud so It uses less resources. Never saw the problem again.

Spybot SD works great.
Also http://www.house%20call.trend%20micro.com is a fantastic tool. Depending how bad you're screwed, you may need to boot in safe mode with networking to utilize it.

I agree, I actually have Spy bot as a supplemental back up to Immunet.
