Using a controller

Postby MATTHEW'S_DAD » Fri Apr 06, 2012 2:23 pm

Who uses a controller and what do you use? What's good about it and what sucks?

I just bought a Logitech F310 to replace my last F310 and new out of the box, the sprint button is sticking. The old Logitech Dual Action's were great and I wish I could find one.

Also, I'm not looking for a keyboard vs controller argument here, just advice on good controllers.

I've used my PS3 controller several times. Try that.

I use the Xbox 360 controller. They make one for the PC. It does take a couple hours to get the controls done right. But I find it's quicker to switch weapons while rolling and jumping with a controller.

Althought when people ask a question it means stopping and using one hand to type which usually means death :P

Do you use the Motioninjoy program, and would you mind sharing your settings with me?

Yeah, I use the Motioninjoy program.

I found a video that is quite useful.

It took me a while to get my head around it, but any questions just ask.

Remember to download the program appropriate to your operating system and remember to install and load all drivers in the "Driver Manager" tab.

I don't understand why anyone would use a controller. The reason I play PC is because you have more control with a Keyboard/Mouse.

It was tough going for me when I moved from the PC to the PS. The dual analog sticks are a minute to learn, a lifetime to master. I believe the keyboard/mouse to be a superior weapon.
That being said, powering the PS and loading the game in short time from the comfort of a reclining couch versus hunchback in an office chair... fair trade

I've borrowed one of the boys' controllers from the ps3 and that is definitely the way to go. I guess I'll be headed to Best Buy to get one for myself now.

As far as gameplay, I don't doubt that the keyboard/mouse is better at higher level, especially for no force and sniping.
