Why can't Trek and Wars fans get along?

Had Firefly marathon 2 Saturdays ago on the Science Channel. Brought back good memories. Battlestar Galactica (80's and 00's) was also superb. Caprica....not so much lol. Still watched it. Still bummed over Stargate Universe's short 2 season run.

Why do so many fans from each side constantly have to yell at each others? Both are great series, each of which have their own merits. In my opinion, Trek is a great series with tons of well-made characters, dramas (Hard Time) and comedies (Message In a Bottle/Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy.) Wars is a filmed masterpiece with a BOSS extended universe (I found Path of Destruction good not just as a Wars novel) and video games (BattleFront, KOTOR, etc.)

Inb4 this thread gets trolled by Wars fanatic.

You had to open this door...okay...so be it....two different stories, two different universes, and most importantly, different hot chicks (must admit Leia and Padme were the 'only' Hot chicks at our disposal in Wars, whereas Capt Kirk was having too much fun (lol) with every...I mean every alien chick that he could)...

Amazing...Star Trek was produced in the 1960's, yet dispite over 20 years difference in producing, Star Trek had more advanced 'Porno'.

Ooops...also, you're talking about a 3 season production (Star Trek) versus an only 6 movie story (Star Wars).

Why can't they get along??..They should 'never' get along. Two totally different worlds.

The original series was a low budget show in the late 60's. Star Wars was a big budget movie released in 1977. Of course Star Trek did come back with better "graphics" with the Next Generation and kept improving as the shows got more popular and their budgets got bigger. I remember the awesome space battles in STDS9, especially the episode "sacrifice of angels".

Best DS9 episode to me was Trials and Tribble-ations by far.

-Enterprise so far isn't too bad, at least not as bad as some people insist. I'm currently on episode 12.

-I'll probably get Stargate on Netflix next, unless I decide on BG, Babylon 5 or Andromeda. Or maybe Firefly. Darn spiral loops of nobody watching.

-Trials and Tribble-ations was more nostalgia than anything. Not a masterpiece to me, but quite good. The first episode coming to mind as being good is Hard Time, which I thought was an interesting premise and done very well.

-If Voyager has a good episode, you can bet the Doctor is in it.

Star Trek was made in the 1960s. Back when you had to have a good crew that could be creative with the camera. It was good for its time. Unlike today where Lucas can have some kid sit at a computer and make a movie. Pretty much gets us episode 1 type stuff

I like phantom menace. I've seen all the starwars movies and the new ones have alot more going on in them. Empire strikes back didnt even have a space battle and none of the star trek movies did either. They just had 2 or 3 ships shooting at each other.
