He studied law in Harvard and University of Chicago. He's a Constitutional Law Professor. He was Senator of Illinois from 1997-2008.
He did have Government experience prior to his Presidency. I'm not so sure about Business though, but don't consider that a must for the Presidency.
WD-40 wrote:Even today, he really doesn't know what he's doing. Case in point, the 'Keystone Pipeline'. He's against it. Is there anything wrong with sending the oil and jobs to the US?
He's not really against it, he just postponed it for further talks in 2013. The number of jobs claimed it would produce are exaggerated. Oil prices will likely not go down since it is dependent on the consumption. Environmental factors need to also be included, extracting oil from tar sands requires a lot of resources (water and energy) and have considerable negative impact on the environment.

Again making baseless assumptions, I haven't read or seen anything that would lead to disaster by Obama.
WD-40 wrote:And Yanni...you don't live here. How could you possibly know what we feel and think other than what you read or see from the liberal journalist crap online or on the TV?? You can't pass judgement on what WE AMERICANS experience and feel. It's your opinion from across the Atlantic Ocean in another country. To say the WE AMERICANS don't know how we feel and what we experienced is, in itself, arrogant.
I lived in the USA most of my life, I know exactly what is going on and what people "feel" and "think". What are "liberal journalist crap online or on the TV" you're referring to? Everything apart from Fox news? Sorry, but I read/watch on several different news channels (and from different countries) to get an objective view on the situation. I made no judgement or statement on what Americans think or feel what so ever. Yet despite me not living in the USA for the
moment, you judge me in saying that I have no say in this
er...
WD-40 wrote:WE (The USA) can do better! And we can certainly do a lot better than Obama. We need someone who knows what they are doing! Obama isn't that person!
I can just say that many people (Americans) have a different opinion on this. Don't forget that that Obama still has a slight majority compared to Romney. That indicates that quite a lot of Americans would prefer to have him as President again. You may not like it but there are many individuals/groups that do not share your views, that doesn't mean they should be regarded less. Once the votes are cast, we'll see what America wants. =)
Concerning the book, I found a few mixed reviews (some questionable, others not). I have not much to say about it until I've read it or found more feedback on the claims etc.
Edit: Didn't see Dad's post when I submitted. Here's the reply to prevent double posting. =)
I agree that Obama shouldn't have said anything, but he was questioned by journalists and reporters concerning that case a the time. So in turn he replied. Though I would say not every 'African American' supports Mr. Obama, but majority is very likely.
I have nothing against religion, as long that the leader/politician separates his religion from government (separation of church and state) I am fine with it. If we do remove every politician who espouses their religion, we'll have very few in the end. =/
Yes the tenets can be questionable, but so do other religious texts. As long as the individual does not impose their views on others and respects other religious views, I am fine with it. I respect the person for their individual views despite me not sharing his/her religious ideals/views.
Concerning the 'Corporate Play Book', what can be done instead to separate the Government from Corporations? I have developed a slight skepticism towards large Corporations over the years but my view is that there needs to be a balance between Corporate freedom and regulations.
I have no definite or perfect answer for this current political situation as it is not my field of expertise. There is also the fact that there are many people who hold different views, so finding a solution to please all is almost impossible.
Cheers
