I used to get mad about politics, but now I guess I just don't see the point. It's just a bunch of small men riling eachother up until one of them is seen as capable of embodying a twisted, stupid ideal, and then when they're proven to be nothing more than a man they're cast aside for the latest sacrificial lamb. It's getting harder and harder to see the position of President as any more than a figurehead, what with the gigantic circus surrounding every single new election. Elections aren't really important, if you think about it - all that it determines is whether the new guy in "charge" is red or blue, and that little distinction is enough to set the country to arguing for another four years. And, wouldn't you know it, elections take place just often enough to keep people constantly entertained and belligerent about anything to do with politics. Honestly, if it wouldn't make me sound like a complete [m'kay] nutcase, i'd be under the impression that the US isn't even controlled by the president or the government we're actually aware of.
I mean come on, only two political parties. The outcome of the election wouldn't have to be predicted or controlled. The lesser parties are terribly unlikely to get anywhere close to elected, so all you would have to do is give enough funding to both parties so that they take over the TV stations, making sure they take up damn near all of the air time so the weaker parties don't get much time on the air. After that, all you have to do is let the bulls smash eachother into submission and have a little chat with the poor bastard who wins.
but yeah I don't really know where that came from but that's why I don't care about politics I guess??? [m'kay] if I know
