Come on man, lay off the Col. I admire his tenacity. Him and him alone is taking everyone on. He's a man with principles, and he's not backing down from anyone....you go Col.

Thanks Pan.

Why does everyone not get that I am stating my beliefs. Of course I'm not going to accept it when everyone else says I "have to accept it." I've already proved it to myself. that's enough for me. Everyone is responsible to make there own decision.

Narg anytime you want to add something "intelligent" to this thread you go ahead. Until then you can go ahead and continue trolling and I'll continue ignoring.

He's not taking everyone on, though. If that was the case i'd be like "aw yeah bro keep on keepin on". He's just sitting there screaming out a bunch of incoherent arguments that contradict eachother constantly, and then saying something about "well I have FAITH" every time people try and figure out whatever the hell he's talking about. And no, i'm not going to insert myself into this debate, because it's become clear that even if I spent hours making the perfect argument more than half of it would be ignored.

The fact that I have to carry on 3 separate conversations with 3 people makes it hard to keep things coherent and understandable.

BTW if you have the perfect argument I'd read it. But words are cheap so I might not agree with it, (unless it really was perfect) but I would read it.

Panama - standing up for your beliefs is laudable. Standing up for beliefs that have been thoroughly debunked is not. Sticking to a failed belief is a worse trait than changing to a better one.

You are stating your beliefs. We are stating why those beliefs are wrong. You can continue believing them anyway, sure. You just shouldn't. You don't seem to get that your method of thinking is counterproductive, harmful, and demonstrably worse for you than simple rationality. You also don't seem to realize that you keep contradicting yourself, and you're trying to defend an extraordinary claim with no evidence in the face of solid proofs against it.

You shouldn't automatically change your mind just because everyone disagrees with you. That is a terrible thing to do. What you should do is really, seriously consider the possibility that you are wrong. The moment you decide "I believe this no matter what" you lock yourself off from any potential improvement.

So what you're saying is is that you have read every argument, and either conveniently forgot to or simply didn't respond to the arguments that were best supported against your claims? If words are cheap, then hello Ebeneezer.

Well i know i started this topic, but due to the comments being so huge i didn't have the time nor the patience to make such huge quotes or posts.
This reminds me of the compendium i made and shal's comments and/or questions.

Ill try and comment from this point on again, but i will be generally ignoring to answer huge posts, and i won't be reading the 50 pages i missed either :whistling:

Well [poo]. MT is back. Now we'll have two of then running about.

Why do I have to be the only middle ground person here!? Crater and Yanoda are the atheists, cool. MT and Homestar are the creationists, cool. And here I am, the odd man out.

I don't even have a word for what I am. Progressive Christian? Ugh. I need to just start my own subset of Christianity. We'll be The Church of the Latter Day Penguins for Christ.

Crater pretty much said what I wanted to in order to respond to the Colonel.
