Of course, it depends on the map as well. Some maps are nothing but spam corridors where you can't go 10 feet without grenades or mines, and ending up directly on top of an engineer happens regularly. Other maps are wide open enough that if an engineer gets into range of you you've done something horribly wrong.

I'll have to try out your mods when I get a chance, Wulf.

Oh, don't worry, I'm not calling you an elitist. I'm calling out the elitists who use the highest tier basic class in this game as a "I have more skill than you" counter to rocket classes. They do counter rocket troops, but the reasoning for saying engineers are for skilled players and rocket troops are for noobs is a heavily flawed one.

And yeah, if it was up to me, infantry would be front line classes - their rifles should hurt - they should make you want to duck for cover - engineers would be back line. Snipers would be cowards, and rocket guys would be anti tank / chokepoint characters. I agree with the medic and heavy weapons specialist classes too.

There's a whole lot of stuff I would do if I could rebalance the game, and especially make the game more friendly towards those like you and I who have higher ping.

Truth is, all classes are effective if you could shoot them in the head. Engies run around with dets in their hands as they run next to you, and think they're skillful. That class is way overpowered. I use the rocketeer because I believe they are challenging, slow runners and slow reloading...you get one shot and you have to make it count, or your dead. And about shooting at players feet.....you have to, there's times when I hit them squared on, in the chest, and they survived. The darkies that use the "darkie glitch" are cheating, plain and simple. I rarely use force, but when I do, it's against those cheaters. (I sound like that Bohemian beer commercial.)

Couldn't agree more Talon. :punk: and I love playing Vanguard (rocket trooper) because I love missiles and seeing that flame shoot across the map and, hopefully, blow the [poo] outta whatever I aim at. I also love blowing up tanks and shooting speeders out of the sky. But it's a slow mover, and Engys usually have a huge advantage close in during combat.
