Favorite Book, Song, Play

Postby kjeopardy » Tue Aug 21, 2012 2:14 am

What are people's favorite books from the 21st century (since 2001)? song from 21st century? song from a play (not nec 21st century, that's very limiting).

Mine:

I think mine is Book= The Kite Runner. Kinda easy, and contrary to my political views, but a great story nonetheless, song = Jesus of Suburbia, show song = Music of the Night

Your title's misleading. I was so excited to rant about Ulysses. No decent books have been composed these past 12 years. Our generation's doomed to a lifetime of cultureless, dry, predictable novels written at a 5th grade level.

Tell me about it. That's why i said since 2001. Before 2001 it's easy :mrgereen:.

That's a great book (150 years before the date i would have liked, but fine).

West side story, ehh...

Just a knock off of Shakespeare's masterpiece.

Meh nothing recently compares to older works imo.

I guess if I have to pick one from recent years then 3 Cups of Tea. Or maybe Born to Run.

Nothing does compare to older works. That's why I want to hear people's opinions about recent works. How about we extend that to include 1980-present.

That's fairer. 2001-presemt doesn't give much time.

Hunger Games trilogy is great, and to everyone who just shuddered as they read this [m'kay] you they are excellent books about the nature of humanity and also blood sports.

Book-A Clockwork Orange.

Song- Wish you were here. (Pink Floyd).

Play- I've seen a few, can't say I'm into them.

*To be quite honest...I have many, many favorites songs and groups. Mood of the day determines them.
