All politicians are in it for themselves and their campaign contributors, period.
Let's start at the beginning of the middle class screw over.
Reagan - "Trickle down economics" HUGE tax breaks for corporations and the wealthiest 10%. If what was meant by "trickle down" was "pee down my back and tell me it's raining", then he was spot on. So began the decline of the middle class. Look it up, the median income for middle class Americans has not changed or gone down since 1980.
Bush Sr. - More tax breaks for corporations and the wealthiest 5% (as wealth is becoming more concentrated at the top). Let's not forget it was he who proposed NAFTA.
Clinton - Passed NAFTA, starting the bleeding of American jobs overseas. How did we not notice? The BS 'scandal about blow jobs in the oval office. Kennedy used to bang'em 3 at a time, yet somehow it was never a concern (because he had no need to distract).
Bush Jr. - MORE tax breaks for the top 2% (follow where the money goes). 2 unfunded and needless wars (with all our advanced tech and weapons we couldn't get the "bad guys" [which we created] in 2 or 3 months at most?) Deregulated corporations and wall street to the point that robbery was legal.
Obama - Health care act. Who will be hit hardest by "fees"? That's right, the middle class. Extends the Bush Jr. tax cuts. Steals more of our basic freedoms, which have been slowly, stealthily taken by every President I've mentioned.
Where did this all start? I haven't pinned it down quite yet, but I would guess around Nixon's administration. That's around the time that corporate contributions started to get out of hand. The last straw was, "Corporations are people too". Thanks supreme court, your masters are pleased.
Romney will put the final nail in the coffin for the middle class. I'm not saying Obama won't, I'm saying Romney will do it much, much faster. He knows nothing about earning a living and in my opinion, almost has an angry contempt of those who do. Yes he saved American companies, by sending THOUSANDS if not TENS OF THOUSANDS of jobs overseas. Sure the companies still exist, they now pay slave wages and the CEOs still get their massive pay, wonderful.
These are the people that have driven a wedge through our society. Vote for them if your "party" decrees it. In the end, they all work against the average, middle class American. We The People pick up the tab for these crooks. We The People buy the cheaply made crap, the over priced oil, the spiraling cost of food, and so on. We The People pay the taxes on all of these things and keep the economy moving. We The People, who are losing jobs, houses, families, and any hope of "The American Dream", can't spend what we don't have. This is the sole reason the economy is in the crapper.
