Have you ever met someone famous? Who, where and when?

I'm asking this because I had an extraordinary experience a couple of years ago. It was while I was part way through completing an extra curricular navigational-expedition that people my age often do in the UK, that my expedition and I just happened to meet actor Patrick Stewart who was staying at a countryside hotel which was on our route. Initially we didn't recognise him because he was wearing a hat, and also had a some facial hair; we thought he was a farmer or something, and we asked him to tell us how to open a lock on a farm gate which was blocking our path... and then we were all like, "oh, holy [poo] it's Patrick Stewart". We had a brief chat about what we were doing, where we were going, what school we were from etc and then we were on our way. He seemed like a very ordinary man, very kind. The whole thing was like a blur since the walk was pretty intensive, but it's something I'll never get. It's not every day you get to meet Patrick Stewart!

So my question to you is, which famous persons have you ever met? (+ any interesting stories behind it you might want to share?). It can be anyone well known, but obviously not like some local radio DJ who's only famous in your town or something like that. Can't wait to read your stories, don't be shy!

Got to talk to Steffi Graf for like 10 minutes once. Also met Anthony Bourdain (hosts a television travel show) on a layover in San Fransisco. Back in high school I went to a Cake concert up in Phoenix and sat next to Elijah Wood. He was getting pretty wasted haha.

I said hi to Ron Paul one day a few months back. He comes out to our local park to walk the hike and bike path occasionally. No bodyguards, no nothing. Down to earth guy. Folks see him quite frequently.

I'm actually kin to Nolan Ryan, former Houston Astro and Texas Ranger pitcher. My grandmother was a Ryan. My parents have numerous signed baseballs.

Also have a copy of Playboy signed by a model. Think it was a "Girls of the Southwest Conference" issue or some such. It was the highlight of my life at the time when I was in college. No idea where that thing is now. My wife probably burned it...

Blazed one with Shannon Hoon when I was 19. Told Eric Lindros that the Flyers had nuthin with Lindros out on injury (didn't realize who I was talking to at first). Anthony Quinn and I used to go to the same barber- he was cool, but when it was his turn in the chair the shades went down and the door got locked. Mike Gordon used to be married to a friends sister so I met him a couple times.
Aside from a few random musicians, the only other "famous" people I've known don't like having their names mentioned

I got to meet Roscoe P Coltrain at a mall getting his autograph when I was a little kid. I also got called out at a Warrant concert by the blonde headed guy because I was near the front and apparently wasn't "into it" enough. Haha, where's he at now...loser.

When I was a kid, I used to watch Roberto Duran box at a gym down the street from where I used to live in Panama. He used to let me try on his boxing gloves and "spar" with him in the ring. Met Hulk Hogan at a hotel nightclub here in Milwaukee...he was a prick. Met the band Roxxette in another club in Milwaukee. Ran into Ron Silverman in downtown Chicago one day, nice guy. I also ran into Michael Bolton at Summefest. He tried to blend in the crowd but I spotted him out..I called out.."Hey Mike!", he turned around, I said.."I knew that was you"..he replies with...."I guess I need a better disguise". Met Charlie Sheen at a nightclub while he was filming "Major League" here in Milwaukee. Ran into Vin Baker at a gas station, he asked me if there's anything to do in Milwaukee, I told him I was going to a nightclub, and he asked me if he could tag along...of course I said...he bought me drinks all night. Then went to an after set with me...very cool guy. I used to work for a local newspaper as a reporter...interviewed Sammy LLanas (lead singer with Da Bodeens).
