WD-40 wrote: It's his philosophy, personal beliefs, and lack of strong (or any) leadership that I cannot stand. He just doesn't know what he's doing...He bows to British, Saudi and Japanese Royalty which is a 'submissive' gesture announcing to the world that the U.S. is 'inferior' to them. He immediately set the U.S. in a weakened bargaining position by doing that.

You know, there is a thing called giving respect to others. Also, it is normal (and considered formal) for one to bow to royalty as a sign of respect.
Thinking this, as "submissive" and demonstrating "inferiority", is a wild claim. Or, would you say kissing them and holding their hands is a better form of foreign policy in demonstrating our superiority?
You may disagree with Pres. Obama's philosophy and personal beliefs, but do note that many others also hold the same/similar views as Obama. Claiming one's own view as the best is a flawed assumption. Claiming that he doesn't know what he is doing just because his views don't agree with yours is also a wild assumption.

As for the original post: We'll see once the votes were cast.

Of course it's 'my' opinion Yan. It's the appearance that many have concluded. Sure it's old news, and not as important as jobs, the economy, etc. What went through Obama's head to do that, I really do not know, as he hasn't really said why. Respect..I get that, and perhaps it was. But I do not believe they bowed back, or bowed first. Obama is a 'Head of State'. A Royal is a 'Head of State'...they just happen to wear a jewel-encrusted piece of metal on their heads...but it is 'equal' rank. Now if Obama was a lower level (VP on down) Government representative, yes, bowing would be appropriate. That's all I'm saying.

So basically your opinion is that we should have severely harmed relations with nations like Japan because we don't swing our [Richard] around enough? We already police on the world stage, i'm pretty sure everyone gets that we're all hardcore and [poo].

:dots: I don't think that's what he meant at all, and I totally agree with WD too.

Really? Because I don't know one country in the Middle East that thinks we're all "hardcore" or they wouldn't be rioting in the streets and killing our ambassadors and aids. Or let alone that the Afghan soldiers we're suppose to be training are killing our troops.

Face palm indeed WD.

Tell you what buddy, i'll debate with you when you can actually form a coherent sentence. You know, with that grammar thing that you've thrown out along with any semblance of a point.

First, I never knew I was your buddy! But more importantly why do you simply try and nit-pick my post of mistakes instead of responding with a post of your own that will actually contribute to the subject at hand. If you did not like my post then you should have countered with one of your own, but I guess not. Instead you tear mine down by pointing out simple grammar mistakes. I for one have never liked grammar and always thought that people who go to the trouble of pointing out other people's mistakes must not have anything else better to do. What is ironic is that there were grammar mistakes in the post of you telling me that mine was full of mistakes. I'm sorry if you did not like my post. I was not trying to be mean but was trying to express my point of view and support for WD.

So where does that leave the custom of our commander in cheif of the American armed forces of not bowing to anyone? WD is 100% correct in his disillusionment. It was one of many diplomatic errors made by this clown of president.

Couldn't agree more.
