They've raised the requirements so that people don't just drop out when they hit 16, like many more would if they only needed two years of specific stuff like math. It's a good idea in concept, but in reality it's a huge waste of time and effort. Basically, instead of learning the baseline level of everything, everyone is learning all the specialized stuff in every single subject they take. I'm not sure if i'm coming across clearly since i'm kinda drunk and tired, but basically it's kinda like we're trying to teach a ton of stuff that people don't care about, instead of having them pick one thing they really like and learning things related to that. I mean [poo], i'm going to try and be a writer, what the hell was I going to do with pre-calculus? I could barely do geometry for [m'kay]'s sake, and here I am trying to do all this crazy math wizardry.
Basically [m'kay] math.
