If you would have read further you would have understood what I meant, being far from what you imply as me stating "don't bother". So I recommend reading the rest, until then, we really are split as a nation if we are unwilling to read the other side's arguments and views.

I just saw all this and am literally going into briefs before flying off to Libya to help clean up Obama's mess there.

I'll analyze your arguments and look at the likely progressive links you provided in a few days Yan. If I pissed you off, it was purely intentional.

WD

Well then, I hope you have a safe trip.
There was no pissing off per se, I was merely using the word you used while criticizing the President, I just used it to flip it. I rarely get angry or flustered. I know that you tend to be passionate with your opinions and I respect them, I merely indicated the other PoW.

Progressive links? Progressive in its definition means moving forward, advancing, progress etc. What and how were the links about this?
Also, making assumptions is a major point I was referring to in my last post/argument. This is in turn, based on my observation, is another reason why the politics are so divided in the Country.

MATTHEW'S_DAD wrote:Well, I'm in the middle class and Barry O scares me way worse than Romney. I deal with a LOT of small business owners everyday in what I do and they are terrified of O getting reelected because O and his policies scare people who have money which makes those people hold onto their money. The excitement that just the last debate caused for these business owners actually got me excited because you know the money will flow again if O loses and there is a lot of business out there waiting to happen, everyone is just scared. (not that I agree with spending money for the sake of spending but I have 7 families plus my own that need it to happen) Business is at an absolute stand still for me right now and it sucks for me and the 7 guys who work for me.

I remember the outcry when O was elected, many stated that he would ban guns and everything related to them. So far, nothing has come out of it that implied that O was going to ban guns. I have no idea why fear has to hamper business, congress is ultimately in charge of making economic policies and not the President. Also, the advantages and disadvantages of policies are based on the opinions and views of the people. Neither is truly bad or good, it is just based on the views of the person.

Cheers

Are you really gonna play dumb about the meaning behind the Progressive Movement?

The Progressive Movement in the early 20th Century? How is that related to the links in any way I provided is what I was referring to.
Furthermore, the Progressive movement was about improving quality of life, moving forward and advancing.

This is the thing that has really pushed me over the cliff with him. Actually him just being elected is what pushed me over... this just threw a big fat guy on top. Obama and his wife have spent so much on trips everywhere all paid for by us the tax payers! Not only that but when Netanyahu comes over here to talk with him about Iran, Obama says no to him so he can go on Letterman! I believe he is what you call "a joke." The Benghazi ordeal has just been another one of his blunders.

Everybody has to go on vacation...Even after the stresses of running a country...

Are you outraged for the sake of being outraged, or is $1.4 billion an outlier compared to past Presidential vacation costs? Be sure to factor in inflation, rising oil prices, etc.

Based on reviews I read, the book seems to be an eye opener and released fairly recently. I am unable to purchase it or read a preview of it where I currently live. Though there is one thing that raises my skepticism on the book. A review on the book stated that there were no sources cited for the bold claims or research for the costs of the Obamas. Unfortunately there are only a few reviews so far, so if anyone get's the book, please check if it provides citations and sources for the claims.

Cheers

The fact of the matter is when you have a $16 trillion debt you don't spend $1.4 billion of taxpayer money on "vacations."

But $1.4 billion is only 0.00875% of $16 trillion. What then would be a reasonable Presidential vacation total with $16 trillion debt?

I don't think anyone needs to spend that much money to "get away." The thing I hate most though is that we pay for it. :1402:

As for Forbes I see they are posting conflicting articles that make no sense at all.
First they say he spends the most, next they say he doesn't...

I did read your entire post, I said I could barely get past the first sentence though. There is a divide and people are pushed so far in one direction or the other that there is really no neutral ground anymore.

I'm not sure what guns have to do with this conversation but O can't ban anything by himself nor would he attempt it in a first term. As far as you not understanding why fear would hamper business....well, it's what drives the economy of the entire world, fear vs. stability. Obama brings fear to the financial world and any reasoning for it really doesn't matter. Justified or not, business owners believe Obama and his policies will screw them and it will cost business owners a fortune in time and money. But when a business owner can predict what an administration is going to do they feel secure and are more willing to take a risk, aka spend more money. Here's one example that's been in the news recently...

http://hamptonroads.com/2012/10/olive-g ... yees-hours

Dude I know on a personal level 100+ business owners and every week I deal another 10-15 that aren't one of my usual's. I'm just telling you how it is and before race is even brought up, there's plenty of them that are black. To say that they are mildly disappointed would be an understatement.
