And there is the fundamental disagreement. There is the reason for the check mark next to Barack's name.

I read all of your posts in their entirety (except for the one) and went to the various links and read those too. That's actually what caused me to pose the question of what your "personal" reason is for casting your vote one way or the other. Don't take this the wrong way, but at your age (I'm assuming 19-22 from previous posts) the above quote can be expected and the ensuing vote that will follow it because there is a lack of that personal experience available to you. A 20 year old simply does not have the life experiences that a 40 year old would have. Nor would that 40 year old have the life experience of a 60 year old. I wish I had the knowledge that my 70 year old father has. Retired CSM with 32 years in the Army, raised three successful kids, literally built several houses from scratch and flipped several more for a good profit and has been married to my mom for over 50 years. Man, there is a ton of knowledge in that head of his, knowledge that you can't learn in school or from the internet. Knowledge that has to be earned by making mistakes and learning from them. But as we live life and make mistakes and chose how we want to learn from those mistakes, we all get the opportunity to gain that same level of knowledge. It just takes time.

(lol, i misspelled knowledge every single time when I typed this. ty spellcheck) :stupid:

Yes. It was implied. In one line. In a different thread. In which I said it wasn't the primary source for my decision. You somehow took that as reason to start talking on this thread about those darn communists redistributing our wealth.

MD - I think we understand better where the other is coming from now (as long as you actually read the rest of that post - I'm willing to discuss any statements or connotations you disagree with). I don't have much life experience to draw on, but that doesn't stop me from getting information from others. Do you with your experience have a better explanation for how Romney's plan is going to work? As I said before, if it was actually clear that he had a plan (instead of just alternating talking points to appeal to each section of the Republican base), I might put aside the social issues and advocate for him.

By the way - 22. Voted for McCain last election - primarily because the only sources I could draw on for experience (my family) were conservative and I didn't buy into the superficial Obama message. I have a better understanding of the issues and of the political situation now - still don't care about the Obama message but I don't see any possible way in which Romney could be better, especially since he's the one running on "hope and change" this time.

I'm going to share something with you guys. One of my good friends went to the doctor this month for a checkup post miscarriage. She was informed by both the medical assistant and her OB/GYN that if she decides to try to conceive with fertility treatments and gets pregnant that in 2013 her entire group benefit policy that her husband has earned by employment can be REVOKED/CANCELLED/DISCHARGED due to provisions made in Obamacare. REGARDLESS OF HOW SHE PAYS FOR IT. This is reason numero uno why I am voting for Romney. As a woman who suffered through four years of grueling heartbreak trying to get pregnant (2004-2008) and only succeeding once I find it [poo] that if I pay privately for my own treatment my whole FAMILY can lose their healthcare. This is a provision that will cover all insurance providers regardless of whether they are "obamacare" providers or not..

My dad took over the family business of excavation work in 1993, and they are struggling. My oldest brother (who is 19) just got out of wyotech for collision repair and auto body won't be able to find a job right away because he (and myself) are the only two people that my dad can get away with employing without having to offer healthcare because we're family. He has tons of potential contracts and jobs but can't do them because the man hours aren't there cause they can't employ enough people. My parents are at the point where my hubby and I have decided to try and find my hubby a WAHD position where we can move down to my parents (they have 37 acres and can easily find a trailer to put on the property for ourselves) so that we can contribute to the mortgage and live homestead style to help my parents make it. This is really scary because I have two more brothers that are 17 and 14 and still weigh heavily on the finances due to how much it costs to keep them in sports, and extra-circ activities. My youngest brother has relented to doing football just for the chance of a scholarship in the end.

I am frankly sick and tired of the Obama supporters that cry out for their pet cause being more important than the economy... We need to focus on the things that will effect our future and help us succeed not the pet projects or civil issues that just make a group of people happy... Sick of the same sex marriage debate (especially in our state since we have a constitutional amendment that is impossible to revoke.) I am also sick of the "sick friend" stories.. FFS, I AM SWGO'S SICK FRIEND, and you don't see me [female dog] do you?

... You just listed a "sick friend story" as your #1 reason for voting Romney.

Anyway, note that I agree with you that the economy is important. It's just that no matter how hard I look I find no evidence that Romney is capable of handling it or that his so-called "plan" is anything more than random talking points.

I told you how. If the people you need to spend money say "cut entitlement spending first" then you cut entitlement spending. Will Obama do that? No. Romney has promised to.

Vote Romney to fix the economy.

of course it's more complicated than that, but on one level it isn't. Many private business owners (they make up the majority of employers in our country) feel they can't expand, spend and hire if Obama is re-elected

Okay. So, what entitlements is he going to cut, and how will that benefit the economy (since that's less money and jobs the government is putting into it)? How is this going to reconcile with his promised tax cuts, including to the wealthy? With an increase in military spending (when cuts there could easily save us more than the entitlements)? I know he's promised to do it, but I can promise to give everyone their own moon base. It says nothing about the ability to deliver.

No I did NOT list a "sick person" reason for voting for Romney. My friend is not sick, she had a MISCARRIAGE and is being told because of OBAMACARE she can't use fertility treatments to get pregnant again or she'll lose her ENTIRE FAMILY's health coverage...

The Dems want us to have the right to choose in regards to abortion, so why are the DEMS taking away my right to choose to have a child if I can't get pregnant naturally??? We can get rid of babies artificially but not make them artificially?
