Crater, I have just about had it with you calling people who aren't sympathetic to Muslim discrimination like you racists (not that I can do much to you really  )

Perhaps he didn't use a very polite term to describe Arabs, but it's also not very polite for some people to invade sovereign territory of the US and torch our ambassador, or to fly planes into office buildings, or to plot to blow up the Federal Reserve bank in NYC.

There are genuine reasons to harbor disdain for Islam other than flat-out prejudice. While this isn't right, it is often inevitable. As Obama said in his 2009 Cairo speech, many Muslims have found peace and comfort in a religion that others use to justify violence and hate.

It's dangerous to try to pretend that people who clearly aren't friends of ours are really victims of prejudice. Very dangerous.

EDIT: since people like Narg are not capable of reading between the lines, I shall clarify. It is obvious that the majority of Muslims aren't bent on destroying the United States. However, the ideas and practices of Islam are not compatible with Western values or liberties. It's not just corrupt extremists is what I'm trying to say. It's not even that Islam is corrupt, cause it's not. Islam just doesn't fit with Western civilized society, and in the 21st century, that's becoming extremely apparent.

EDIT (again): Please actually read posts before coming to conclusions.

Hahaha, wow. Just when I think you guys can't have worse views, yet another layer of dumb [poo] is revealed. It's like lasagna got down syndrome. Yes Pi, approximately 384,218,000 people are actively plotting against the United States of America. You [m'kay] ingrate, do you have any idea how people work? Do you really, really [m'kay] think that the majority of people who follow Islam wish death upon the western world? If you were in front of me right now, i'd either tell you to educate your goddamn self or just punch you in the teeth, because you are a complete [m'kay] idiot when it comes to politics and you should never even say a single solitary word about it if you're going to remain this goddamn stupid. I would use a ridiculous example, such as Christianity clearly being filled with those kinds of people who burned the Koran and absolutely no good people, but I don't want my point to be sullied by a bad joke. I cannot express how goddamn disgusting you are for even thinking that, and I hope to god you shape the [m'kay] up you goddamn child. You just generalized hundreds of millions of people into some kind of [m'kay] boogeymen without a second thought, you arrogant twit. Go ahead and dismiss this post because it doesn't stroke your ego. I'd say I don't care, but you know what? I do care. I care that you are on the road to becoming an incredibly [poo] person, and I care that you might be sociopathic enough to become a politician and enforce your disgusting views upon us. You make me feel sick inside.

You are just damn insane. It's no joke: the threat of terrorism and Islamic extremism is real...no: not all blow themselves up, but enough Western people have been killed that it is not unreasonable to have an attitude toward Islam.

Is it ideal to generalize a group of people? No.

But I ask you: what is worse—for people to be stigmatized because of their religion, or for Americans and other innocent people to die because we are afraid of offending people?

During the 1940s, we treated the Japanese terribly because of an act of civilized war; what we did was absolutely wrong. Now we have terrorists and guerilla fighters attacking us, and our greatest concern is making sure that we don't "generalize" Islam. More action has been taken against the guy who made the video than the people who torched the embassy.

The world has moved so radically to the left that it is almost frightening.

People like you only put the civilized world at greater risk. We need to stop focusing on equality and trying to pretend that things aren't as they seem: they are.

I'm gonna throw something crucial out there that people need to wake up and realize: there are many many many moderate Muslims, but no moderate Islam.

Hahahaha. You are pathetic. You're telling me that not calling Islamic people ragheads is going to kill Americans? You know what, I don't give a [poo] if people on the front lines are racist dickheads. You got guys who are fighting, I don't give a damn if they call people [m'kay] raghead dick-suckers. Muslims are Islam. Islam is Muslims. You live in an upper middle class household, go to a school where you don't worry about getting shot or blown up, and can walk about the streets with impunity. It's so goddamn obvious that I can infer it by the way you type. You know nothing about the way the world works aside from what other people have said, and those testimonies come from places you know will support your viewpoint. You have seen one small part of the world, and you're convinced that that's all there is to it. And i'm insane? You are a child, in every sense of the word. You follow, you don't lead. You repeat, you don't think. I'm just arguing with a Fox News article and a petulant child. I put the world at risk? You seem to have me pegged as some kind of bleeding heart, Pi. Let me be very clear - if I decided that someone was a legitimate threat to me or the ones I love, I would kill them. I'm not a peaceful person. But that doesn't mean i'm a [m'kay] idiot.

You want to know why there are many of the Islamic faith that are against us? Because imams among them labeled us Crusaders ever since we began the War on Terror. The Islamic world has been around for a long, long time and has a much deeper memory. We know that we never participated in the Crusades against them. We know that we have no intention of trying to take their lands. But thanks to some skillful manipulation on a societal level, they see us as the same as those who came riding in in the past, raping their women, killing their men, and slitting their children's throats. The radical imams feed on this fear, on this anger, and gain willing converts to the Jihad. And, instead of mitigating this as much as possible, you would see their fears realized. You would give them all the converts they would ever need, turning a very small minority of angry young men into a sweeping tide of death and fury. You think Christianity is the most populous religion? If so, you are wrong. Islam has been and is the largest religion in the world, and there are very few casual worshipers compared to Christianity. If we crack down, and if we truly start fighting, then we will not break Islam - we will unite it such as the world hasn't seen in hundreds of years. Even if only temporarily, Sunni and Shi'ite would take up arms together against the Great Satan, and we would be in an absolute [m'kay].

But no, i'm sure you know best. You're so smart, after all.

Actually Narg, Christianity has approximately 2.1 Billion followers, whereas Islam has about 1.5 Billion.

I don't disagree in that the Crusades spawned an enduring hatred of Christians to supplement their long time hatred of Jews for rejecting Islam over a Millenia ago. The West hasn't helped matters by occupying Muslim lands or imposing political will on Muslim counties. Now it's simply evolved into finding any excuse possible to rise up and revolt against Westerners and kill them (led by radical Imams). Seems even if a Christian's bathtub had a crack in it that resembled the Prophet Muhammed, they'd rush into the streets and start screaming into the News cameras, swinging swords around and burning American Flags wanting to kill any Americans whether it was their bathtub or not. Their countries are full of mindless wackos with a deep desire to destroy America and everything it stands for.

Btw, I'm all for getting out of their countries and their business, AND not giving them even one single taxpayer dollar in support from this day forward.

On September 11, people were peacefully protesting a video that was honestly pretty offensive, and some militants attacked our consulate.

On September 12, guess what the Libyan people were protesting?

On September 21, the Libyan people moved against the militias.

Yeah, totally a people united by their mindless hatred of the West.

I'm not even going to get into Pi other than to mention that at least half of what he's posted has extremely disturbing undertones and implications, often of the "Muslims are backward savages" variety.

I've been staying out of these treads because I don't care much for discussing politics but I feel the need to point out that pi is being at best borderline racist here. To generalize a group of people based on the actions of some is stupid, ignorant, disgusting, and idiotic. You make comparisons like here in the civilized western world as if people there are in some backwards dark ages society.

While I personally don't agree at all with the Islam faith, I've never felt the need to be extra cautious or on guard when I'm around someone who is. You act like every person who believes in Islam is out to kill Americans when its more like a group of extreme wackos doing it. I've got a surprise for you, there are extreme wackos living in "civilized" parts of the world too.

What you should be doing is basing individuals on your own experiences with them. How many of those Islamic people have you met and gotten to know. If your saying people should be judged based on their religion how about their personal actions? When you first came on this site your were banned because you were cursing in the game. Then you tried to blatantly lie about it in order to get out of punishment. Everyone could have written you off as yet another trouble maker based on the history of trouble makers here, but you were given another chance and have become a good member of the community. (Although this crap isn't helping you)

If you want to have a political debate about presidential candidates then have it. But don't turn it into an ugly thread invoking racism and nationalism. That kind of crap is isn't allowed in the servers, I'm surprised its been allowed here.
