With Obamacare, The “government” currently pays about 43% to 46% of all healthcare costs, mainly through Medicare, Medicaid, and the armed services.  When Obamacare is fully implemented, it is expected this amount will increase to 49.2%. It is a clear increase, but nowhere near a 100% government-paid program. The private sector will still be responsible for over half of healthcare. The whole "government takeover" claim certain people like saying is a lie.

you appear to be under the misapprehension that "government" somehow magically has money to pay for things like healthcare. Anything that is spent by the federal government has already been taken from working people or has been borrowed and will have to be paid back with interest by taxpayers. TANSTAAFL

I put government in quotes to imply technically, I know how that works. I was talking about Obamacare in regards to how it isn't socialism. But you guys seem like you're pretty eager to talk(or rage) about Obamacare itself. And since I don't feel like writing up a large post, here's an article that explains it.
How I feel about the bill is that while it is a step in the right direction, it is quite messy, and could have been implemented better. In a perfect world, the Senate and Congress could have sat down together and worked on a better health care solution. But it ended up being a bill that was written, not read, and passed immediately. I'm going to blame Congress for this one, mainly because all they are concerned about is adding something to their resumes, when they need to be more concerned of the well-being of American citizens.

Well said...but in my opinion, it is a form of socialism and wealth redistribution. I see your points, however.
