IMO it's not such a bad thing. Everyone thought the Marvel brand was doomed when Disney took over but it's actually done better then it would have alone. Disney's track record isn't terrible either, they put out Pirates and the Avengers, sure they had flops like John Carter but really does anyone think it can get worse then Jar Jar Binks? I would love to see the Thrawn trilogy on the big screen, but I'll be open to a new storyline too.

Now one thing I would like to see is a tv series that follows the x-wing books. The liberation of Coruscant, fighting the Lusankya and the Iron Fist. There's some good Star Wars material there.

I think they should do a whole story line on Jar Jar and all of the Gungans going into great detail about how they came about and their beliefs. They should also include a documentary on the Gungans most prominent leaders.

Amen to that! I would love to see an episodic show from the X-Wing series. They did state that there would be various shows coming. So that to me means at least Clone Wars, Detours, Young Jedi, and "Underworld" or what ever the real name will be for the Live-Action series.

Haven't seen that movie yet, though for some reason several people recommended it to me, while the ones who read the books thought it was terrible.
Don't forget about Prince of Persia: the sands of time, which i absolutely loved.

I'm not overly hopefull that the new movies will be of ANH or ESB quality and yet.... http://www.cracked.com/quick-fixes/4-re ... star-wars/
All Warfare is based on deception.
Anger his general and confuse him.
Offer the enemy bait to lure him; feign disorder and strike him.
Know the enemy and know yourself; and in a hundred battles you will never be in peril.

According to what I've heared if the movie was accurately made after the book it would have been rated somewhere near Pegi 16
Disney doesn't allow gore nor harsh language in their movies due to having a lot of non-adult crowd looking.
This is a set-back for many people due to them actually wanting to see more gore....

Though for said people star wars never had such thing to begin with.
Not even when Maul was sliced in half :star-wars-smiley-026:
I'll have to watch the movie and decide for myself though i haven't read the books.
Then again it is really hard to make a movie purely after the books entering every little detail, movies would last way too long.
A perfect example would be Lord Of the Rings the third movie had 11 Oscars and was rated one of the best movies ever made.
In that history noone before attempted to make movies of these books just because there was too much to cover.

Even though they were made and are great many people who read the books do not like them that much.
They either state that too many thing were left out(like the scourge of the shire which i know nothing about :wheelchair: ) and other things being wrong to some extent(Anduril being reforged when Aragorn was about to return to Gondor while it was reforged in the books when he left the council of rivendel)

In any case books aren't movies and many times you will see stories being very different from them....

Now i'm wondering, didn't Lucas make the scripts for E7-9 already?
I wonder if Disney will be using them or writing new ones.....
So any other speculations about SWBFIII yet? :D

I enjoyed the movie as well. I think the problem lied with how the movie was marketed and that so many science fiction works (including Star Wars and James Cameron's Avatar) borrowed from it throughout the years that general audiences see it as nothing new, even as a supposed rip-off of said works.

Gore isn't the main focus of the story, nor is it in similar live-action Disney movies, but the violence wasn't at all suppressed in John Carter. There were preying mantis people being delimbed and torn apart, and giant monkeys bloodily being cut into, to name a few. And no, Disney doesn't only make family-friendly films: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touchstone_Pictures

In conclusion, gore-seekers won't be displeased when Disney keeps the level of violence in the Star Wars franchise the same as when LucasFilm independently helmed the property....

Yes. Lucas is providing Disney with "Treatments" which is in-depth information and notes about each of those stories. They aren't as complete as a script but a very clear roadmap. He has also included notes for many other Star Wars movies that will follow 7, 8, & 9. I think those are the 10, 11, & 12 Star Wars Saga story conclusion with many other individual character development stories and TV show ideas and scripts. I think the first character spin-off they will do is the Boba Fett movie that has been discussed for some time now. It will be a fun few years to come!
