Hehe I haven't gotten involved in this thread yet...

The whole secession thing is ridiculous—none of the states is capable of functioning as a single entity. It's not even like there exists a majority of people in any state who seek secession.

The outcome of the election is indeed disappointing—and a testament to where this country is going; but when this country goes down (if it ever does), it will sink as a single nation with no survivors

Of course, I say that. When we hit Greece levels of poverty and debt, THEN our nation will break apart. Again, thanks to our silly liberal money spending government. Liberals will be the downfall of the greatest nation of the past 500 years.

Yes, because the Republican Party sure has proved to us in the past three decades how financially responsible they are... :-|

Don't kid yourself, the Republicans are no longer the fiscal conservatives they used to me. Hell, my state's Republican Senatorial candidate, Tom Smith, ran his entire campaign on the fact that he would increase Social Security and Defense while the big-bad Democrat, Bob Casey Jr., wanted to cut these programs...

And 2012 - 500 =/= 1776.

BAHAHA. Silly liberal. Your first three words indicate that you're a democrat. I realize that not all Republicans are conservative (those who aren't shouldn't be Republican), but all democrats certainly are liberals. This isn't a broad generalization : it's fact.

Still hating on Mr. Bush, are we? I thought Obama would have our financial issue/unemployment/numerous other issues solved by now. How'd that work out?
Bush didn't do anything wrong. What other Republicans ran up our national dept by like 8 trillion dollars in about 4 years? Hmm..... that'll take you awhile to figure out.

BAHAHA. By any sane political reckoning Obama is a center-leaning conservative. Drone strikes, Guantanamo, protectionist trade, taxes under 40% for the rich - even his healthcare plan was taken from Republicans.

You tell me how it worked out. It could have been better, sure - economists say the stimulus Obama passed was too small.

I agree...however that is why there's a big problem now. Reagan said too much Government interfering in people's lives is bad.

That is so wrong. The worlds monetary system is based on the Gold Standard. Gold/Silver/Gems, food, and other tangible stuff of value will always be used for trading. They always have, and that will never change.

... No. You know what gold is, fundamentally? A shiny rock. It has no real inherent use, aside from industrial processes. It does have some traits that make it useful as a currency - it's identifiable, relatively rare, fungible, divisible, and doesn't degrade. That's how it caught on in the first place. However, its use as money only extends as far as people are willing to exchange work or goods for it.

It's not even a good fiat currency. Unlike our current money, where the amount in circulation is regulated by experts, the amount of gold in circulation is regulated by how much gets dug out of the ground. Spain managed to collapse its economy due to rampant inflation when it looted silver (functionally similar to gold) from the Americas.

Now, food is fine. Food is useful. There will always be a need for it, so it's a good thing to barter with. It makes a poor currency, but in a barter economy you don't really care about that.

I think ammunition would make a great currency. :3

(I don't have the physical strength to get really involved in this topic).

I do know I'm going to probably agree with Crater and Pepsi most of the time.

Cute attempt, but not quite.

And your first three words indicate you're an ignorant [derriere orifice]. Anyways, if you must know, I'm a registered member of the Libertarian Party.

Facts have sources. Do you have any sources? Otherwise you're just talking out your ass. Personally, I don't care which party is viewed as liberal or conservative. I just want somebody who won't continue to suppress our civil liberties and run up our national debt. And both the Republicans and Democrats have yet to prove themselves capable of doing this.
{JOG}Black wrote:Still hating on Mr. Bush, are we?

Yes.

You actually thought that? Hahahahahahahahaha...

Terribly.

I could list many things Bush did wrong, but I'll just state that he ran Clinton's surplus into a deficit and over the course of 8 years raised our debt above $10 trillion.

HAHHAHHA. Libertarian Has liberal in ITS NAME. Hahaha. Money spending fool.

I didn't think Obama would fix anything. Sarcasm, my friend.

Bush ran up like 7 trillion. He had to fight a damn justified war. Obama ran up 10+ trillion. He didn't fight a war. He took a lot of vacations. He spent a lot of money. That stimulus package? An extra $10 in every American's pocket? Hahahah. Yeah. Great economic plan. Give people $10. A six year old could have told you that wouldn't have worked. Perhaps super liberal economists said it would have worked, but they must have been high on something like LSD or Molly. We can argue this alllllll day. I'm taking it to the bank (no pun intended).

My facts have sources. Question them and I'll show them to you.

And for those who wonder, I am in no way a ignorant [derriere orifice], unless being financially responsible deems me an ignorant [derriere orifice]. I tend to think the opposite. I am republican in a democratic country. It's hard watching the left wing sink us.

BTW: the deficit rose to 10 trillion under Bush, and 16 trillion under Obama (+6 trillion)...get the damn facts straight---even if they are more favorable to the communist and hand-out giver
