and i'm not a pussy because I keep my opinion to myself instead of writing it down in a forum that is visited by hundreds of people. I am just being prudent wd. But if one day you come to my house and have a beer with me I would gladly tell you what I think with all honesty (when I have my own house lol). I remembe I once told the classroom what I thought about a delicate subject and everyone flamed me so hard.... I was labeled as a racist and such...Therefore, I am not putting what I think in these forums. but just to give you some insight into what I think (and to answer your question to crater): I prefer a christian world.

ah if only we could say what we really think about something.....

Good. You aren't a lost cause lol...and just so you know: when someone starts calling you a racist, it means that they have no argument left.

Take someone calling you a racist as a good sign: it means you won!

lol maybe.

but I don't know... I have so many mixed feelings about this. I don't like what some people do for religion and at the same time I feel so passionately about cultures and languages because it is a part of who I am. Let me show you what I mean:

putting the religious side appart, I really like arab culture (not considering religion). I like their food and music. I also like how they dress. Personally, I wish I could one day go to Dubai or the capital of Quatar.

Guys look...I apologize if you take my shots personally, whether upside the head or groin. I don't mean to insult you on a 'personal' level and do respect your opinions. I do not, however, want to be jacked around with a response when I know full well that you have the intelligence to have figured out its meaning from the beginning. Case in point Crater asking the Obvious. A play on 'words' when the meaning is clear, is very frustrating, and as you can see, pissed me off due to a waste of time. I reserve the right to be pissed as anyone else does. If I kicked you too hard in the nuts that the feeling in your head got hurt... Well...when the throbbing in your sensitive head dies down...get back to me with an answer. At least Otto did. Good man. You answered it, whether anyone likes it or not, is irrelevant...you gave an answer. I respect that! It shows conviction and strength. :punk:

I think the problem WD is that it really was too general a question to ask with a very narrow answer to give. In Craters case (and he can correct me if I'm wrong) you have someone who doesn't believe in God and therefore would prefer neither. In my case I could and would answer Christian because that is what I am, but seeing as there is numerous different religions that claim to be Christian you can't fault me for wanting to be specific.

In my beliefs, Christianity has no place involving itself in government affairs. Jesus stated that he and his followers were no part of the world, he did not promote discrimination because people believed differently he said to love your neighbor as yourself and that included those persecuting you. Yet there are other Christian faiths that have clergy who give "Gods backing" to their specific nations going to war. There are forms of Christianity who claim that people who don't believe the same thing will go to "hell" which is also nothing Jesus ever taught.

I know this is a big divergence from the topic but its already been diverted so oh well.

Pi you need to remember that when people start objecting to your comments it's not because they are out of arguments, it means they truly take exception to what you said and that should make you stop and think. Don't respond to the racism aspect by claiming yet again "oh it's bleeding liberals" or whatever it is you think we are, and look at your comments the way we see them. In essence you have stated that people of that faith have nothing to offer to society but oil, you label them a threat because of what they believe even though for the most part the terrorists are radicals, and its wishful thinking on your part that we would just be rid of them all. Now how does that sound? You can look at someone from the Arab countries and they would say almost the same thing about westerners. Start looking at the world from someone else's POV other then your own.

This is correct - I do not particularly desire either of those options. Thus, the simile with the punches - I was conveying how I'd feel making that choice, not saying that you were attacking me, WD. Also, I apologize if I seemed to be avoiding your question with my request for clarification. There's a big difference between, say, an all-Catholic world and one that contains everyone from Orthodox to Baptist to Mormon.

I come back one day later and 4 pages have accumulated. Makes it hard to try and contribute to the conversation if I don't stay glued to the forums (which people have [female dog] about me posting too much as it were, not that I'll change my behavior in such a way to please others). Also not that anyone cares what I have to say anyway.

I think it was Pi who said the Koran details that women are inferior to men. Well the Old Testament does the same. Just pointing that out. Religions are supposed to evolve. Islamic leaders don't want it to change, and they want to pervert it further for their own gain.

I haven't read the Koran. My mom has. I'd ask her about what she thought but she is asleep.

I've said it before probably, but I personally want the world led by atheists. Because you can't depend on religious people to make the right unbiased choices for humanity.

I have a simple rule. If your religion has you hating, you're doing it wrong. I think this should apply to all religions. But that's just me.

That isn't really true...I didn't say that individual Arabs don't have anything to offer—but at the moment, as a collective society, i don't really think that they do. Again: not to say that Arabs should be dismissed as useless, but I think that WD summed it up pretty well—the only 2 options are ultimately gonna be an all Arab world or all Christian world...Islam can't allow Christianity to exist; it's not in its nature...

EDIT: @Wulfie—while it is true that Christian and Jewish texts establish more "rights" for men—neither religion establishes them as inferior nor denies them basic human rights as does the Koran...would you like for me to cite some lines from the Koran indicating this?

EDIT: @Hstar

Actually, what you said is really the crux of the thing...what we differ on is the following: is the Islamic religion inherently violent and savage, or is it really peaceful with just a few people exploiting it for political reasons? I think the former, you think the latter...everything else we disagree (i.e. Arab contributions, etc.) on is really just a branch of that main point.

All this other stuff of prejudice and being offensive and la la la la...is really kinda irrelevant—the only important argument is the one I just mentioned.

But since you did take exception to my attitude toward Arab contributions and such, I will recant in favor of holding only that Islam is inherently violent and savage—not peaceful.
