American Christians, do you feel persecuted?

Postby Mandalore » Fri Nov 23, 2012 11:49 pm

I've been hearing this tossed around lately, and I was wondering if any of you felt that way. And if so, why?
[04:25] -SR-Mandalore: who pitches and who catches
[04:29] (SWGO)SWINE*FLU: We'll do it in turns.
[04:30] -SR-Mandalore: That sounds super fair
[04:30] -SR-Mandalore: Do you think other gay couples do that?
[04:30] (SWGO)SWINE*FLU: I reckon so.

I don't consider myself an "American" Christian, there are people worldwide with whom I share the same faith with.

Acts 10:34, 35
At this Peter opened his mouth and said: “For a certainty I perceive that God is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.

That being said
Matt 5:10
“Happy are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them"

It's ok to feel persecuted. Not that I personally do at this moment, but if it happens so be it.

Soon Islam and political correctness will be the only legal religions in the US

It will also probably be a federal crime to work for a living and earn money  .

(joking people, get a damn sense of humor)

I wouldn't say that American Christians, are, "persecuted" however...I mean, the vast majority of Americans belong to some Christian denomination.

Lol it's OK to be persecuted if you are a Christian, but if you are a Muslim then it is a grave act of prejudice? The hypocrisy...

Unless I am completely misunderstanding your post, please clarify. And BTW: you are an American, and you are Christian, hence an American Christian. So cut the "whole world is one and we're all a family" schtick .

I look forward to your response.

I feel that the original intent for the seperation of Church and State has been subverted and perverted by the courts, into something that is detrimental for the freedom of religion. I find that it is easy for certain people to limit, suppress, and outlaw certain things about the Christian faith because it is the "politically correct" thing to do. But those same people allow other faiths, eg. Islam, to express themselves and their faith in ways Christians can no longer do, because it is the "politically correct" thing to do.

I personally do not feel persecuted, my faith is my business. I do not flaunt it to others, or condemn those who do not agree with me. I live and let live. And I would expect others, especially the government to do the same.

Oh pi, are you still sore from talking yourself in circles and then into a corner, and having everyone jump all over you for it?

Learn what hypocrisy is.
Defined : A pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess.
Now the scripture I quoted states that happy is the one being persecuted. Did I say it was alright to persecute? No, people who do the persecuting are bad, mean, ignorant should I go on? I was describing how someone could react to persecution received. You are talking about the person who does the persecuting. You're talking about 2 different roles :sleep1:

Understatement of the day

In my opinion a Christian faith cannot truly be called a Christian faith if you define yourself first by the nation that you reside in. Let me ask you this, if you were (for example purposes only) a Catholic, living in America, and America went to war with France (Again for example purposes only) would you kill Catholics who are French?
It's plainly obvious that the whole world is not one, and I didn't say I was family with everyone, but I can positively say that I do consider fellow believers part of my spiritual family.

This is all you get, I won't be responding to you again, you obviously have an enormous amount of time on your hands and an unlimited supply of arrogance to dispense, so troll for debates with someone else.
