Probably because 1) a religion is something you choose to believe in .. a race is something that you are born with and have no choice over... the nazis were a political party whose goal was racial genecide against the jews..

The Nazis persecuted practically everyone who wasn't of Northern European descent...they despised the vast majority of people.

In fact, I remember reading in a book somewhere that the Germans were uneasy about invading England—largely due to the ethnic similarities between the English and German races (both are descendents of the Anglo-Saxons)!
