I've read somewhere that Hitler/Nazi's had a list of the races that were going to be exterminated under Nazi rule. Jews were first, Blacks, Gypsies, Arabs, and so on (not in actual order). We all know he also wanted to exterminate the handicap, the homosexuals and religious factions like Jehovas Witnesses was high on his list. Basicly, that demented knobshine wanted to exterminate all races but the Arians.

He was actually on relatively good terms with the Arabs, although whether or not that held to his personal ideology no one can really say. Hitler was the master of deception and he had three or four different facets to his thoughts. He is actually a really fascinating personage to read up on no matter how evil he is.

And as for Christmas, it's become far more cultural than its religious roots. While I'm sure church attendance does spike around the holiday I'm sure it's also no where near the number of proclaimed Christians. Even as an atheist I have zero problem celebrating Christmas/the solstice/etc etc. I don't particularly care for its religious basis but at the same time it's a time meant to bring people together and there's not enough of that in the world as it is.

But I'm sure, every swinging [Richard] Govt employee whose anti-Christ would gladly get paid for the day off to celebrate it.

Trees for the purpose of celebrating Christmas were not in popular use until the 16th century, nearly 1500 years after the life of Christ. Remember again that Christmas time does not commemorate Christ's death, at least not originally. The celebration of Jesus' birth was announced to coincide with the Pagan Winter Festival in an attempt to gain converts and approval from the indigenous believers.

Stating that no other religion celebrates anything to do with the season is a ludicrous declaration. If, by your statement, you meant that no other holidays are found at the same time, may I remind you of the following from http://www3.kumc.edu/diversity/ethnic_r ... c.html#Dec:
5 - Ashura (Islamic, Muslim)

6 - St. Nicholas Day (International)

8 - Bodhi Day - Buddha's Enlightenment (Buddhist)

8-16 - Hanukkah* (Jewish)

12 - Virgin of Guadalupe (Mexico)

13 - Santa Lucia Day (Sweden)

16-25 - Las Posadas (Mexico)

25 - Christmas (Christian, Roman Catholic, International)

26 - Boxing Day (Canada, United Kingdom)

26 - Kwanzaa (African-American)

If you mean that no other religion celebrates or has celebrated Christmas itself, you are committing logical fallacy. Christmas arose out of a combination of Pagan festivals, all of which were religious and most likely animist philosophies. To say that no other faith or group celebrates Christmas for any other reason other than the way you celebrate, recognize again that Christmas is celebrated differently by many. Those who may not be Christian faithfuls tend to celebrate Christmas if they live in a country where the religious meaning has all but lost potency and where "family," "friendship," and "charity" are the face-value aspects of the holiday, which has been intrinsically woven into the culture of the Western World.

In regard to Kwanzaa---it has no religious basis whatsoever, and was not celebrated until 1966!

So that does not count as a religious holiday---rather, it is a cultural festival.

Almost all of those were either Cultural or Christian derived holidays. xD Aside from Ashura, Hannukah, and the buddhist one

His 'Death'?? Okaaaaaay....

I believe that is what 'Good Friday' is for...followed by Easter 3 days later to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion.

stop being such a jerk..... didn't you see Wd, dad and nite clarified the situation?? I made it clear it was ok but you obviously need to use the situation to make yourself look good even after the issue was solved. And if I don't think it's funny that's my business. I just talked (pm'ed) to nite and dad about it... so bug off. I never liked your comments anyway...

and regarding christmas, I don't celebrate it. I never liked how my family in venezuela (grandparents, uncles and cousins) all get toguether and look for opportunities to show off their new car or house or how they sometimes try to humiliate you for any reason they can find. Every mile that I can add to distance myself from them is the best thing that can happen. I don't know if that happens to some of you guys? Besides, christmas was something invented sometime in the middle ages if i'm correct.

Pleasing you was never one of my goals, TBH.

In case it has eluded, being political is certainly not one of them either.
