today i am a happy person. so happy that i feel i must create an unnecessary thread. you know why? my house has been without running water for the last 8 days, but its finally back!

after getting a massive 12 gal/min leak in our main line, we opted to replace it; i spent days helping to trench the 350 feet from the street to our house. it was exhausting, and at the end of the day, id have to shower with like a gallon of water borrowed from our neighbor. ended up saving several thousands of dollars by doing most of the work ourselves though.

anyway, i have a new found appreciation for the small things we get to enjoy. :clap:

now i can go back to being wasteful.

Seems you had a taste of 'Little house on the Prairie'. Never encountered your dilemma, but I'm sure you won't ever forget it or the value of the simple pleasures we take for granted on a daily basis. Good on ya! :punk:

I promised myself I'd never take electricity for granted again after Hurricane Sandy. Yea, that promise lasted 12 hours at best.

Boose and I are in the process of finding a trailer of our own to put down at my mom's (due to the numb nutz brother gun situation) and when that happens we'll be digging our own well for it... I'm willing to take pointers.
