I think he meant that they were NOT 'Federal Employees' who attended....But I didn't catch this in time to save his joke from semi-destruction. However, his Jab at it being the 'Free-loaders' who attended, still stands more true today than ever!
However...I WILL say, as a Federal Employee...I'd have rather WORKED on Martin Luther King Day, ONLY because it meant that the BALD EAGLE would have CRAPPED another $350.00 into my Bank Account! $350.00 vs a Douche getting re-sworn....No brainer.

Alright look, at this point I absolutely have to ask. WD, why is it that I see you and hundreds of older people on the internet Randomly capitalizing certain Words as if it's some sort of Inflection? That and suddenly bursting into all-caps makes me think of someone just slapping their [Richard] all over the keyboard and somehow has the same effect on me as someone actually screaming into my ear. It's Terrible.

Just because it's a federal holiday doesn't mean that non-federal employees don't also get an optional off work day. :S

And you would have rather worked? So that means you didn't? Martin Luther King Day doesn't always coincide with a presidential inauguration, especially one for a president you are not a supporter of, but this year it did happen, and you missed work? There goes your chance to be committed to that claim.
