The problem is that you'll get all those people with an obsessive attachment to their cars saying "if you limit the cars I can drive then your taking away my rights" or "cars will be needed to aid in the rebellion once its time to over throw the evil empire"

Why is it funny? 390,000 dead over the last 10 years? We need to get these assault vehicles off the roads. No one needs 10 seats to drive to the store.

Peoples cars are not protected by the Constitution. There's no reason this can't be done.

Because,
1) They're not as safe. You get hit in a bike by a car, you're going to be [m'kay] up a lot worse than had you been in a car with airbags and seatbelts.
2) They hold 1-2 people maximum.
3) They can't hold groceries and the like very easily.
4) People like me who have physical health problems can't use a bike anymore. My 10 speed is collecting dust.

I come from a family of six kids we needed 8 seat belts. Also I might point out that none of your "assault vehicles" were ever smuggled into a school or movie theatre and used for to sole purpose of getting a high body count.

Also casr do provide transportation, which is useful to society. You still haven't told me the benefit of your assault weapons, other then the whimsical idea that they'll be useful in the coming rebellion.
