^ With this, will this mean the only SWBFII servers now can only be Dedicated? No PC servers?

I think Gamespy would be rather retarded to shut down servers, not only do they support swbf2 but other old games as well. I highly doubt they shut down servers, possibly the site but not the servers. They have way to many people playing and way to many people paying for those old games to do so.
Also known as Phantom.

Um, key hashes are checked on the gamespy servers IIRC. So unless it's hacked to remove that, nobody will be able to play on servers. The problem is that there will be no way to ban people based on cd-key, it will have to be completely IP-based (i.e. firewall).

I hope someone's working on a workaround. Even if gamespy keeps the servers up, they are living on borrowed time as of right now.

Plus we will need a server browser, which will be much easier.

The thing getting shut down is the part of GameSpy owned by IGN. The multiplayer service belongs to someone else and will not shut down (yet).

Can't honestly say I'm shocked IGN is involved.
