How can a country like that win against two modern and industrialized nations? impossible. In fact, lets remember that the U.S almost won that war but american troops had to retreat because the Chinese got involved. Today it's the same thing. The U.S could win quickly, unless the Chinese start causing trouble.

history repeating itself

Yup. North Korea is posturing; they don't want to actually start a war they can't win.

Now, we don't want a war either, but for different reasons. First, that they could do some damage before they're crushed (they have artillery that can reach Seoul and missiles that can probably reach Tokyo). Second, that nobody wants to deal with the cleanup, rehabilitation, and de-brainwashing of the North Korean populace.

Technically, NK and SK have been in a state of war since the Korean War. The armistice doesn't formally count as a treaty, but rather as a truce, a pause. Unlike in the West Bank however, the pause has lasted more than a few days. Seriously has noone played Civilization to know what a truce is?
All Warfare is based on deception.
Anger his general and confuse him.
Offer the enemy bait to lure him; feign disorder and strike him.
Know the enemy and know yourself; and in a hundred battles you will never be in peril.

Remember that guy in high school who had a snotty little brother that was always talking smack and causing trouble just to get attention? That's China and N. Korea in a nutshell.

We had a kid like that in my class...He got his butt handed to him the last day of school. (No, it wasn't me. I was actually quite shy and reserved back in school)

they always do this when a new leader comes to power its a show of power
they try to show off to the people and the rest of the world.
they need aid they are really poor but asking for it would mean losing face.
china are their main allies along with russia.
see north korea was communist and so was russia=ussr and china still is.
