Remember to do stretches beforehand and hydrate! Otherwise you'll feel like [poo] after exercising.

Also, are you looking to eat healthier as well? If so, the best first step is to cut out sugary drinks.

Would you freak out if I told you I haven't eaten bacon in 5 years?

If you wants to eat bacon, be my guest. But it certainly offers little health value. If you're looking for meat and protein, eat grilled chicken or fish.

I know you said that you don't want to resort to illegal drugs, but on the other hand weed is actually legitimately excellent for people in your position. If you have any way of getting it, i'd say at least give it a shot. It doesn't [m'kay] with your head (at least not for me), it just numbs the pain a little and also helps you relax.

Oh dear.... I don't even know where to start here.... Especially since I'm in a fibro "slump". And since you're not going through some of the things I am (prepping for pregnancy.. or wait, are you? LOL j/k) my advice may not be as beneficial. One thing I am going to make very clear... Men get the worst end of the fibro schtick. 100% completely honest. Fibromyalgia is often perceived as a "woman's" illness which leads to more years of mysterious "what ifs" and troubles in diagnosing the problem. Hell, I'm a female and I first started showing symptoms in 2004 and 2005 and I finally got my diagnosis in 2010 after a doctor discovered that for 10 months of having no pain (pregnancy can put fibromyalgia in a remission like state) and had a flareup start due to an injury I suffered during labor and delivery (I slipped and fell in a puddle of fluid).

I really wish I could fly you over here, as I have found a doctor that is willing to consider my "alternative" therapies beneficial. He also doesn't hesitate to prescribe Tramadol. You will be hard pressed to find anyone that will prescribe anything stronger due to the voodoo gods of the DEA. I am taking a substance called "Kratom". Supplements that are what I would say are "key" are Malic acid, maca, Co'Q10, and royal jelly. Some research I've done has revealed a possible cause of fibro being a problem with "cellular energy" to the muscles. Co Q10 and royal jelly helps with that.

My original treatment plan was a combination of Tramadol and Gabapentin. I tried Lyrica but my insurance company at the time kept fouling up the requests for the mail order they REQUIRED me to use so I just gave the heck up.. The Lyrica and Gabapentin are practically the same drug, Lyrica is just more "investigated" and concentrated. I regret ever being on either drug. The decrease in pain was not very noticeable at all, and something worse happened.. I very quickly declined into a state of "fog" being tired all the time, and soon afterward I was unable to drive. Made trips from Seattle to Portland very difficult with Boose not having a driver's license (he has a permit but still needs to test.) Made being a mother rather difficult, I missed out on so much. Had it not been for cameraphones I would be a very depressed individual right now.

To be completely honest I really don't want to give too much advice cause like I said, it may not be particularly beneficial to you since you are a male with fibromyalgia, but one thing I will say... I'll be there... anything, just ask!!
