For behaving this weekend and letting Caboose and I celebrate our 10th Anniversary without any stress or fires to put out.

Boose took Monday (the day of) off. We had a graduation to go to on Friday, and we stuck around till Sunday. Then we had a home celebration, got a couple of beef tenderloin steaks, some shrimp, and a bottle of peach bubbly. Next weekend we're going shopping for fishing poles!!!

If anyone has any recommendations on rods/reels please let me know. The fish we're most interested in is: kokanee, trout, steelhead, catfish, croaker, chinook. I know there are more that we'd like to have open but we haven't bought rods/reels in YEARS!

I prefer a Berkley torque med\heavy action rod paired with an open faced bass pro shop reel or diawa whichever is handier. Then again I'm left-handed so these combos fit me better. Righties could probably get by with a bait caster or closed faced reel. For more challenge used 14 lb. test line( I like the ultra thin) but NEVER and I mean NEVER use Stren line, it deteriorates in sunlight quickly causing much heartache and disappointment as well as no fish in the live well. Other then that good luck!!

For trout I recommend shrimp, corn, fake roe, mini spinner baits.

I just got back from a camping trip were i caught 25+ trout in 2 days. mostly on shrimp and fake roe

shrimp rocks. whenever the family goes to coast we catch a ton of drum with it. ribbon fish and squid also work pretty well.

For nites post, it really depends on the size of fish and where they are. If in deep water, then a bait or casting or spinner rod and reel will work fine.
