New Mod Map

Postby [NH]Mr.Yankovic » Wed Jul 17, 2013 3:35 pm

Ok, so i wrote about a new map to serve some time ago (Christmas In Jinglin' Town) , and nothing has really happened (as suspected) because it would be illogical for SWGO, so I need YOUR help to start my own server, all I need is 20 People to download This Map ( http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.co ... Town;85416) and reply to this post and see where it goes if i get enough support! And btw this map works with v1.1 and v1.0 and probably most other versions, if i get the support I will start the server immediately! and believe me this map is awsome!

hey yankovic... it's nice but I really don't think you will atract so many players considering:

1. there are already tons of empty servers out there.
2. not enough new players
3. bf3 is coming.
4. not many players are hardcore enough to download a mod map and play it.

I don't know... I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but that's what I think will happen. If you want support to do this, maybe you should ask some clans like JOG or EA (both known for doing some game modifications) so they might add it to their server for one day and make a special match. So, I suggest you ask in their forums as well. But I really think you will have a hard time to get people to play this everyday. Just saying...

If you want to play Mods on a Battlefront server, your best bet is to contact DICE asking for:
-Mod support for the PC version of Battlefront
-Specifically, server-side mod support (the server sends the mod to players automatically. Look at TF2's system.)

They probably won't implement much past what is going to be in frostbite 3, which I don't really know much about...

TF2's built on a quake engine right? Jedi Academy was built on it (or a variant of it), and they seem to be highly mod-able

It's in Source, which is apparently a distant descendant.

I don't know much about Frostbite 3 either, but if I had to guess how much mod support it has the answer would be "none."

Yes as Far as I know JOGs site said that they are done with swbf2, and yes Jedi academy has quake that is part of the model dismemberment, jedi academy 2 has better dismemberment, both have full scale mods also, also getting close to twenty posts
