1. Yes, no force servers do take heavy adminning unless the server is modded.
2. There are mods available for a FFA scoring system and removal of force/guns.
3. Kren, some of the top no force players are from Europe. It all lies in using lag to your advantage.
4. No Force is much more complicated, and therefore challenging in my mind, than force imo.
My answers to ur reply Mandy:
1.) Yep true, hence the reason for not playing on those server. You get muppets using force, glitching, interrupting duel’s, have the lovely fetts sitting up high away from the game picking folks off who want to duel. It gets tedious trying to abide by server rules when half the folks don't.
2.) Yep but it’s a mod, not everyone has those, cares to download them or have it installed on a server. A lot of mods cause lag.
3.) Lag is a double edged sword – it’s not always about the winning, its’ the fluidity of the game; have a game which flickers, is slow and u find yourself unable to move or respond in a timely manner ain't much fun, trust me I'm from the UK so I know how much lag spoils the enjoyment of the game.
4.) Tend to disagree on this one. You seem them squaring up, dash-attacking and facing the centre of the screen - boring!
2 many additional rules with no force aka, u can't sabre throw, u must play in a designated area, you can/not use mace/emp slams, u can't employ ur surroundings, dashing/mashing/melee is the preferred choice. It removes 2 much of the intended game's appeal. As it stands as the moment from what I have seen across multiple servers then unless I'm really that way inclined u won't see me attempting no force due to the points above.
If no force was the ability to block, duel like in fencing, use ur skill to par/attack then it might be more of a challenge but SWBF2 is not designed to allow different combination of sabre attacks, it is a limited amount of pre-set moves u can employ. It's not really duelling per-se from my perspective.
If a game was designed to allow u duel using the different sabre attacks, different light sabres etc, similar to what's described on the net then yes it could be very interesting:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Lightsaber_combatIf/when a game is developed that incorporates such elements then yep, I'd play it definitely. The only ageing game around that allows some semblance of duelling is Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast which isn’t bad. If duelling with light sabres is ur thing this might be the next best alternative.
I know some of u (in-game) keeps throwing that into the mix that Force players could not do Non force. U need to ask urself if (said) player is skilled at force do you really think they could not mould their skills the same way if so inclined?
As I said it’s a personal choice and now all u folks can understand why I don't duel non force with SWBF2.

Kren
