Basically it asserts that because there were nearly 50,000 incidents of vaccine induced illness that it was a failure. But going with the 170 million administered shots that's literally not even a tenth of a percent. I just don't understand how in this age that people can still be so phobic to science.

Considering the fact that these countries are using an outdated version of the vaccine, I would consider it a failure. If you want to learn about vaccines and their risks/benefits pick up Dr. Sear's Vaccine Book. Its available for Kindle as well...

Vaccines are something I'm on the fence about. One of the things I wish I knew more about before having my son, but I'll do better when I have my next child. I plan on using a delayed vaccine schedule with my next child.

I've gotten plenty of vaccinations and i'm not dead, so if I have kids they'll probably have vaccinations. I mean I guess there's some debate about it, but when i've had like zero negative effects as a result of getting them I don't really see any reason to argue the point.

I don't see how such a small rate of failure indicts the entirety of the body of work. A tenth of a percent as the failure rate for just about anything is more than likely the closest you'll ever get to perfection.

The fear that vaccines cause autism seems to be extremely misplaced because far as I remember that idea was thoroughly discredited in the scientific community with the increase in autism mainly attributed due to the better diagnostic techniques available.

And this is in reference to the India case. The Pakistan case is clearly more the result of silly people giving expired vaccines. Which is roughly as dangerous as eating expired meat.

My husband, my son, and I are fully vaccinated, and we have had no ill effects... The problem I'm having is vaccines that I was offered during the high school years (Hep B) which were optional to a teenager are now being given in the hospital after birth. The amount of vaccines required has nearly tripled since 1984. The amount given at one time and the new "combined" vaccines are what worries me.

Yes, ONE of the studies on MMR causing Autism has been debunked but I know two children born in the same year given the updated Pediarix (which is the M, M, R, Polio, and Hep B combined) that developed Autism when none of their older siblings developed it, and none of their younger siblings developed it after being administered single vaccines on a delayed schedule.

Dr. Sears recommends you delay and only vaccinate in certain combinations to avoid the overload of aluminum and formaldehyde that is used as preservatives. Mercury is NO LONGER in routine childhood vaccines. It is still in some of the flu shots, but its easy to ask for a mercury free single dose vaccine.

I have also considered any future kids to adhere to the 1984 schedule. My hubby and I did well on it so I think its enough. I do believe that the people that don't give their children ANY vaccines are playing Russian roulette while walking on a tightrope.

That's a good point. Did said vaccine get properly tested? I'm no savvy individual on this, but the 2 times I've gotten the 'flu' vaccine, I caught the flu..My ass was hard-down for 2 weeks each time.

One of the causes of autism that they are looking into is in correlation to inducing labor. That seems to be floating around more and more, so will wait to see what the studies find out about that.

My kids are immunized but I had reservations due to the autism scare (now debunked) and other side effects that were being bandied about by the media. If you sit here and say you have no problem shooting chemicals and anti virus' into your child, you do not have children, or are blissfully unaware of the possible problems that can occur. Just because the government tells you it is safe should not make you feel better about it. The FDA is notorious for being paid off by drug companies to get their product out to the public where they can charge whatever they wish. Not enough testing, not enough research done. And then later recalling those same drugs when a percentage of the people taking it drop dead. It is a crap shoot, and one of the reasons I do not take medications willy nilly for every little thing.

As far as flu vaccinations go, never had one. I see coworkers getting them and getting sick all the time, meanwhile I might get the occasional cold, but never had the flu since I was a young kid. Wash your hands, be mindful of what you do, and you won't get sick. That is my philosophy on the flu vaccines.

I think me and Duel were separated at birth. I have never had a flu vaccine.. and I have never had the flu. Even though I've been living with RA for about 10 years now, that is the only bad mark on my health card. I've never had a cavity, been to a hospital for anything (until my RA), or really been sick at all. Now that I am a father, I see how easy my parents had it with me and my brothers. None of us never really got sick. The occasional cold is about it. I, like Duel, doesn't go by what the FDA or any gov't agency tries to "sell" me. I use common sense and a little bit of detective work, do your own searches, and trust nothing.
