Reagan among the most over-rated presidents of all time. Got credit for so much that was already written on the wall before his election. Funny though, I doubt he would make it in today's conservative climate given how extreme the right has become. I personally wouldn't mind his immigration policies being enacted. Especially over some of the silly things being presented now. His quip about latinos being Republicans but not knowing it is hilarious since he was so right, and yet his party has failed to embrace such a powerful demographic that should naturally ally with them.

On Syria, [poo]'s [m'kay] up. Really only option is to find a nice pro-Western faction and try to support them but haven't really heard of any in serious contention lately. Islamists rising power in the rebel groups. Syria still going to be a [poo] hole after this. Just a towel-head [poo] hole instead of a secular dictatorship [poo] hole.

I think it's rather humorous how Kerry's gaff may have given Obama the exit he needed from the 'red line' policy. Obviously, the State Department immediately tried to cover Kerry's comment (acting like he wasn't really serious) right after he said that the bombings could be avoided if Syria turned over all their chemical weapons, and Russia (brilliantly) jumped on that with both feet. Now Obama has to re-write his speech to the Nation in order to dove-tail off the Syrian agreement to give them up, putting Obama in a very embarrassing pickle. If this was always an option to Obama, why wasn't it put on the table in the first place? That's easy, it was never an option...Certainly not one Obama wanted out in the open on an official level. Kerry gaffed an off the cuff remark. But admittedly, it was a Gaff that worked like a charm in the Foreign Diplomacy arena, and Obama should be kissing Kerry's butt, since he (accidentally) saved Obama's butt by throwing him this lifeline. Question is, what does the rest of the world think of all this?

It's really sad how Assad seemed like more of a reasonable person than Obama has been of late. I'm really hoping he turns over the chemical weapons. Hell, give them to Russia for all I care. It's not like they'll use them.

I think it's best for not one nation to confiscate any weapons, but a coalition of nations.

I agree. Doesn't mean we can always or even most of the time get what is best and/or right. I'd rather have Russia have them than Syria. I'd rather have a number of Nations take care of them rather than Russia, but it's not always so simple.
