I don't think that would ever happen. It would be pretty boring to play with no force powers... and what the hell is going on with your avatar?

What really needs to be done is:
1) nerf the range of pull, it's a bit ludicrous. Nerf it to about 3/4 of the range of push
2) Increase how much stamina it uses so you can't just double pull.

It gets rather frustrating when there are several pullers on and you can't even walk out of a door without getting double pulled.

The choke range on vills is quite short, but it is unblockable. You might increase how much stamina that uses.

However, the best way to keep things balanced is to replace all pull with push, and maybe give yoda and luke choke (the latter is at least canonical :P) instead of push.

I'm open to suggestions, but I really think something needs to be done, and @Kren, slippery slope, just b/c many complain about pull (legitimately) does not predict they'll do the same when it's gone. And, in any case, if we give the vills one puller, all will be happy - or at least less displeased.

And yet there u were indicating about modding the game and cutting-out pull. You cannot say that players on HA do not complain, quite the opposite in fact, they are also upset about something, I should know Pepsi like the rest of the admins through years of being on the server. So removing one element will focus players attention on another, if there's something to complain about it will be done be that about a force power, the playing dishing, in-game play-style etc. You cannot please everyone about everything.

Regarding pull - learn to adapt, keep out of range etc. Pull can be overcome, people need to learn how to do this. If people are getting pulled all the time then it indicates they do not learn from their mistakes or improve their game play. Yeah facing a couple of pullers can be difficult, 1 v 3 if you are in the open, so cover needs to be used.

Let's hope in SWBF3 this game meets everyone's needs, doubtful but you never know. Until then live we the game and as I said heroes are not winning 90% of the time and it has not caused people to leave the server in droves.

actually I do not think swbf3 will have a hero assault feature...I think that is a mod that will be added later.

Will SWGO support SWBF3?

@Kren, I really do believe you - HA players complain quite a bit; I should know, I'm one of them, and I see it each time I log-on. That said, their complaints are legitimate, and maybe something small could be done

1) Allow villains access to pull
2) Limit the # of pullers that can spawn
3) Reduce the range of pull to match that of push/choke.
4) Increase the amount of stamina using force pull requires

(Note: each of the above is exclusive - in other words, only one need be implemented.

I think you are missing a massive point. Heroes & Villains has a fantastic balance, and without it I don't think people would still be playing. You see most if not all players love to kill a pull noob, what could be better than choking to death a silly old pull noob. Then there's the choke noob. Think of an nooby anakin hiding on roof tops, behind that wall and spending the whole round doing the same old stuff with little effort. Just typing it makes me wanna pull that [m'kay]. If that's not enough we also have the push noob, yeah those determined little [poo] who are so big and mighty that they will at no time ever fight you until you are safely lying on the floor.

And what's great about all this, we as players of the game have been all of the above at some point and why the hell not.

Sure there are players that are annoying, like the player who only is an Aalaa noob or the one who just pushes a thousand times each round, or the bell end elitist who spend more time hiding and avoiding danger then a pygmy marmoset and they think that's cool  and lets not forget the players who at times like to have great no force battle's on the server.

All of this sparks added interest and all of this makes players more competitive and that's the key to heroes & Villains and that's why we love it and why after 8 years still play it.

All of these mods you speak of have been tried on various servers over the years. All of them are sitting empty, if the are even still up and running. The game is balanced if you have good players. I rarely play a puller, usually Luke or Ani, and get verbal abuse for the fact that I use push or choke. Idiots cry over my use of Jango or chewie as well. My point is not to boast, but to point out that there will always be whiners and suck players. This whole topic is childish.

If people are so upset by the attributes of characters and the game itself then perhaps it's time to have a break or wrap-it up completely, call it a day and get out into the fresh-air and meet people. There's no perfect game out there Pepsi and SWBF2 is a typical example of that and yet here it is played by lots of people years after it was going to fade and die. It's doing ok in my opinion for an aged game, warts and all.

If there's anything the ps2 community got right, it's that pulling is op.. granted a more skilled villain can beat a puller, they're still more difficult to kill either way. and aalya mechanics without force is incredibly strong anyway, with her one-hit dash which is easy to use + riposte. I haven't even played this game since the middle of summer but whenever I did, pulling was always the best way to kill people. it was honestly pathetic how easy it was to get damage increase/reduction every game..
