The truly sad pullers are the ones who get a one to one kill/death ratio, or less.

You see most if not all players love to kill a pull noob, what could be better than choking to death a silly old pull noob. Then there's the choke noob. Think of an nooby anakin hiding on roof tops, behind that wall and spending the whole round doing the same old stuff with little effort. Just typing it makes me wanna pull that [m'kay]. If that's not enough we also have the push noob, yeah those determined little [poo] who are so big and mighty that they will at no time ever fight you until you are safely lying on the floor.

And what's great about all this, we as players of the game have been all of the above at some point and why the hell not.

Sure there are players that are annoying, like the player who only is an Aalaa noob or the one who just pushes a thousand times each round, or the bell end elitist who spend more time hiding and avoiding danger then a pygmy marmoset and they think that's cool  and lets not forget the players who at times like to have great no force battle's on the server.

All of this sparks added interest and all of this makes players more competitive and that's the key to heroes & Villains and that's why we love it and why after 8 years still play it.

Granted Sawyer, you're right. Thanks for the insightful post.

I don't think that would ever happen. It would be pretty boring to play with no force powers... and what the hell is going on with your avatar?

I'd like to see a focus on challenging and realistic saber dueling, force powers make for unbalanced gameplay. Think back to the movies, how often were force powers used on another force user directly? Vader threw boxes at his kid in Empire Strikes Back, but that isn't using the force directly on Luke. Vader throws his saber at Luke in Return of the Jedi, but again, not directly used on another force user. Palpatine uses the lightning on Luke in the first time a force power is used directly on a force user.

The reason for this is that the movies start when most of the Jedi order has been killed and secondly the Sith were not in vast numbers. The first movies had Obi, Yoda, Darth and the Emp in it, hardly the a combination for vast force battles and in that case duels. These characters did not encounter each other on a frequent basis as the Republic was made up of a small rebel army compared to the vast army of the Empire and the death Star etc.

What the movies did focus on were land, air and space battles with troopers. To get anywhere near to the battles force/saber you have to look back at the history of the Jedi and the Sith. I cannot recall a game focusing on simply duels with lightsabers that has stood the test of time (PS/Wi), perhaps this is due to the fact that the combat system was not developed enough for the number of dueling styles, types of ightsaber etc.

A Jedi/Sith went into battle with the force and the saber, one was not exclusive of the other. In the movies they did not expand greatly upon force abilities in combat and likewise saber styles and duels. You did have things like saber throw which was force and saber combined which was not in the movies that much but you do see it in the games.

If a game needs to be successful there has to be a good foundation to underpin what you both duels and force combat. The closest I have come to that is within SWTOR on the PVP side, granted it's an MMO and not a FPS but if you want to experience lightsaber combat styles/forms and a wide range of force powers then this has a lot. They are just bringing in a new arena PVP model with reduced players rather than larger teams.

To be successful in a FPS and online it needs to stand-out from what was developed (Jedi Knight series, SWBF2, SWTOR) and with the latest consoles perhaps the graphics and realistic vistas might lend itself to something like this. With SWBF3 let's hope they don't remove the Jedi/Sith element completely and cater for those who want to duel and use the force together and those who want to just duel.

I sent a plea to the SWBF3 game creators for them to keep Heroes Vs Villains. Hopefully they will search and see there is still a community.

No other game out there has as good of a melee combat system as HvV swbf2 does.

Hero Assault is one of the laggiest servers on bf2... Its a shared server and you want to add mods? When you add mods it doubles the lag. also, There would be no way to consistently enforce a rule of limited pullers unless if you mod. If you mod, there is your lag problem again. It's a good game, it has flaws but there is no way to make it perfect. Pullers will always complain about chokers and vice versa. There will always be players who are no good and chose to use pullers. Even if you have a "Perfect" rule set, there are no longer enough active players to be able to have admins on enough to keep the server in check 24/7

I would like to see indestructible ammo droids in Hero Assault. It is already very hard to get points with wookies. You only need 1 maul player to pass by to ruin your fun and then you have to spawn as solo, fix the droid, run back, spawn as wookie and run to the ammo droid just to find out maul is waiting for you.

well...talk to Syniclus, the Sith Empire leader. Their server has mods like that, and more. They have indestructible ammo droids, force is turned off, and they have a modified point system to allow for TKs in duels.
