Anyways, I'm glad there's a shutdown. Perhaps it'll convince more people to vote third party...

I am third party....

Such edge.

Wow.

So unique.

I feel as though [NH]Shadow knows very little about politics, and just identifies as "third party" to be different...

He's also kind of young and it would be much classier and more mature on your part to cut him some slack.

When did this mentality become a thing here? I remember years ago being told "you're only 14. Shut up kid. Your opinion doesn't matter. Ramble ramble ramble."

i've been told that, too. it's not just you. and my opinion does matter. it is my opinion that the govenrment is being run in an incorrect manner, and i believe it is beneficial to our country that the government has "shut down", even though that doesn't really mean anything.

This whole mess is about 2 things:

1) Crushing the opposing party thru tactics in the hope that 'their' way will win more seats in Congress in order to win or maintain control, and
2) Job security. Vote along party lines, or risk being cast out of the fold.

here is something that would probably work, but our government would never think of doing it; don't pay the incompetent sycophants (AKA congressmen) in congress until a budget is passed....too bad we do not have government with the guts to do something drastic like that...

This isn't the first time this has happened. The difference is, in the past, parties talked toward resolution during the shutdowns and national landmarks weren't shut down.
