While the insurance for a family of five of a single parent was cheaper (due to a govt subsidy of around $400), I was wondering where the govt was getting this $400 from? I understand why people support OC based on the early perception of it but I don't know how you live with yourself knowing what you are doing to hardworking families who are being forced to pay more. Personally, I could care less about the millions who refuse to work, take lousy care of themselves or don't mind going to free clinics for care.

I was just ranting. I really get mad when people work the system and whine about not getting more in free government goodies.

How much is the subsidy if there is one? I'm really curious how that is being determined.

I remember I saw Rudy Giuliani explaining that when he became mayor there was like 1 million people in new york using government welfare. He said he created a rule where people who accepted government help would have to work for the government for 20 hours a week. That way, the money was not free and the quantity of people subsisting on government help dropped dramatically.
