Engineers a neverending source of pain

Throw me a bone guys, I need help in defeating those pesky engineers and their det rushes. What do you guys think are the best classes to defeat engineers?

dark troopers can burst them pretty easily, bothons are ok if you're behind them, and any unit with a grenade launcher(not rocket) works too.

I hate engies. I tried the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" routine, but it doesn't work well for me. The dets never seem to throw when I want them to (I have to spam the button it seems).

I generally use heavy troopers and having an enemy that doesn't care about my mines is disconcerting.

I have to agree, especially at the beginning, but I'm not an above average Engy. Personally, I like sniping them in the head at medium range. Too close they can kill snipers with one or 2 shots, especially with a Flechette rifle. Darkies are good if the Engy doesn't see you coming. But if you can master Engineer, that's the best class to kill an Engy. When boxed in everywhere like on Tantive 4, I lean toward Vanguard. Between missiles and grenades, I have a sporting chance against them, but the long reload is what's risky using those, especially when Engys can heal themselves.

Snipers are the best against engies. One or two shots and they're down. A vanguard works if you can hit them hard enough to cause considerable damage, then pull out side arm. Wookies and any class with grenade launchers works well too. The rifleman has to be the hardest... unless headshots come easy. Super battle droids are badasses in the right hands. One wrist rocket can kill a hero if it's a headshot.
