Star Wars Battlefront III - all you want to know

Ok, SWBF3 is supposly dead and now it evolved into Battlefront Online but here is the info and the history of SWBF3:


Star Wars Battlefront III

SWBF III is a game ghost. Many people have seen or been working on it but LucasArts only turns a deaf ear. Here is the history of the never announced game.

Its strange and complicated life started in Rebellion Development but shortly later the project was moved to Free Radical Desing - on September 2006. In the period of next few years many things happened: there were information about PS3, X360 and Wii versions but eventually Gamestop.ca listed Battlefront III for pre-order on PS2 and only on it. However, in the internet showed up [poo] for X360's BF3 too(lastest news - 2010). We were able to see some 3D models but it wasn't said on which platform they were created:

October 2008- Free Radical Design announced they lost the rights to develop Star Wars Battlefront III. The game was in the air in that moment. Free Radical got bought up by Crytek.

January 2009- Battlefront III footage frmo November 2008 appeared in the internet. There were presented amazing ideas such as "vertical battlefield"- fighting on the ground then jumping into x-wing to catch your opponent in the space. Unfortunately, a former FRD employee said this idea died. But nothing changed the fact that no one was working on the fame after FRD lost rights...... or we haven't known who.

Few months later... battlefront3.net claimed that their member had paid for pre-order of SWBF3 which will be published somewhere in 2010. It was their information but everyone who knows how marketing works can say: [poo](for PC version). Why? Because: where is the info about beta-tests? Why is so silent? I can't see storm is coming. November 2011-possible but not 2010.

Finallly, the actor working for LucasArts, Chriss Marazzo, said SWBF3 had evolved into "Forces of Corruption"-addition to "Empire at War". Not FPS but RTS...
On the other hand, now we have news about Battlefront: Online... but it's subject on the other topic.

That little idea is in the SWBF Elite Squadron. SWBF3 will be a great surprise if it actually comes out but it seems Lucas Arts seem to have been focusing on The Force Unleashed 2.

BattleFront online seems a quite good idea if it's based fully online. I don't think it'll get as many people buying it seeing as not many people have online on some consoles.

If this had come to pass, it would have been the one game to make me lay down Battlefront Ii for good. I bought The Force Unleashed and just wasn't drawn to it.

Force Unleashed was good in its own way, but does not have the same feel that SWBF 1 & 2 have. Lucas needs to get his head out of his ass and kick some techys in the balls and get this rolling again.
