Nobody that I know. My parents live a couple of miles away so until the roads are clear there's nothing I can do to help them out. They have good neighbours I might add however if push came to shove I might need to brave the weather with a shovel, winter gear and some food as it would be a long trek to get there. My preference is to stay put until the worst has passed.
There's a couple of lorries that have overturned, car's stuck in the middle of roads and the police or so I have been told diverting trafic away from Sheffield (city close to me) as it is very dangerous driving conditions.
The snow's coming down in bucket-loads here. All the busy bodies on the street have cleared the top of the cul-de-sac 5 times over the last 2 days only for it to fill up again with snow, made me laugh! We are about a mile or more from the nearest main road and to get to it they would need to clear snow off the road leading down the hill and then back-up it. Why waste the time/effort!
One idiot (I don't get on with him) decided he would act like a polar explorer and take his van down the street only for him to get stuck and then spend the next hour trying to get it back. Another tried his car, failed, decided to start walking to work then gave it up as a bad job and came back. The morale of the story is: it's bad weather there ain't anything you can do except ride it out and stay put, works for me but each to his own.
Regards,
Kren
