Have you even bothered to study our nation's history? The Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution only to appease certain states into ratifying it - without the Bill of Rights, the Constitution would have never been approved. And the Bill of Rights doesn't grant (or allow) US citizens rights, it specifies which rights we will not allow the government to take from us.

Good God, maybe the education system is as [m'kay] up as CNN is reporting, although I tend to distrust the mass liberal media.

BTW: Don't double post, edit your original one instead. Since you're obviously a mentally incapacitated child, I'll let it slip this time. Ur welcome dude!!

The Bill of Rights IS part of the constitution no matter how it made it in. When the government is not taking it away then that means we have that right as citizens. The amendments grant us those rights.

You warmonger! Stop advocating the insurrection of innocent, poor people against fat military generals who can barely get out of bed in the morning without having to be helped by a young somewhat-sexually attractive woman less than a fourth of their age.

SICKENING.

You RETARD! That's [m'kay] reality! Get the hell out of the textbooks and see what is! Jesus [m'kay] Christ! Get the hell out of Mama's basement! I'm 48 years old, I served 12 years in the Military as a Navy Pilot, served another 16 as a Federal Agent...and YOU know MORE than ME?!?..Dum stupid....

If you ever understand what this quote means, and who John Locke is, then perhaps you'll realize just how little you truly understand the concept of freedom.

Come on Grrrrrrrr....Freedom isn't just handed to you just because of ideals or that it's written on some document....you FIGHT for it! Then you FIGHT to KEEP it!...That's reality!

I never disagreed with your point, WD...perhaps my previous post was in bad taste, but the fact is is that you are clearly over-reacting to an unseen assumption.

As to what you said, I respect it, and I agree - to a point. Freedom achieved by violence will never be the same as freedom achieved by compromise. I do agree that we need to fight for freedom, but I also think that we should not go looking for that fight - in the case of the Middle East, for example.

And simply because someone is dead does not mean they hold relevance for us today: I mean, MLK is dead, but we don't dismiss what he worked towards, do we?

Of course not..but I react to what I read here..not the unseen assumptions...but Martin Luther's 'dream' is certainly worth 'fighting' for..just as 'freedom' itself. No country can have freedom unless it fights for it..whether thru Democracy, compromise or by force. BUT..it IS worth 'fighting' for! Less we fall into anarchy, imperialism, slavery, etc. etc.

I read only a few posts of this nonsence....
Anyhow i'm tired it's early so i'm just gonna comment on the "freedom isn't free part"

I agree with the fact it isn't free, but then again do we have freedom? i mean from what i see there isn't such thing as "democracy"
Altough(well at least here in Spain) we can vote for someone aren't the results just the same? whoever we vote for things are only getting worse.
And as some of you might have seen on the news there are some big manifestacions around these parts.

And people get beaten up by the police for holding a PEACEFULL manifestacion..... liberty of expresion? yea right..
The last excuse of the police was that one of the people there "Took" one of the policemen's hat...while in a video showing that moment he accidently dropped it, and of one the people there picked it up and gave it back...good excuse for starting to beat up everyone...

Just look @ wikileaks  their boss gets charged with "espionage" for giving out the stuff goverments try to hide(wich they say are govermental secrets)

Freedom? get real....there is only the illusion of freedom.

Minas, there comes a point when the practice of the freedom of speech becomes endangerment of lives, which was the case with Wikileaks. He was uploading private government documents that had the potential to put government officials in harm's way.

To me, it all depends on how you look at freedom. Some people think death is freedom, to be free of life itself and to escape this harsh world.

My view on freedom is completely personal though, I know that the freedom I'm fighting for is worth it.
