But I'm a 'travelin man'. I don't even attempt playing at Hotels anymore. Their WiFi is 'FUBAR'.
WD...(no i'm not dead just workin' me oos oof...how ya been?)...as you know, all I play is hotels...just adding to your pile of information to assist you in sorting it out...if i can get 2mb download and 1-2mb upload and a 100 ping or better then I'm able to play with only an occaisional hiccup...but (like golf) i compensate for local "weather" conditions, acheive mediocre results, blame in on the "weather" and play for the love of the game...hope all is well with you and yer kin!

I've had the same ISP (cable) for years but from a few different residences within close proximity (2-3 miles) to each other...i was shocked when I realized how bad the ISP had been ripping me off for all those years prior to moving where I live, now...moved here 2-3 years ago...summarising: download went from <1mb to over 10-20mb...up went from barely noticeable to 5-8mb...i never have, and do not now, pay for "turbo" or any other upgraded service...especially, now, after knowing what I know....going forward - any ideas/tips/thoughts on acheiving/maintaining/negotiating the best service from ISP?...other than "know someone" :-) best source for independent ISP ratings?
